Cozy little hotel on Killington Road. Owner is very friendly. Free breakfast in the morning. Yes it is not a 5 star hotel, but at this price, with breakfast, AND it's proximity to the mountain, it's great. The breakfast is really a godsend, for people in hotels (with no kitchens) breakfast can be a pain around here, especially with large groups. It really makes mornings before skiing quick and convenient.

We've been staying at Butternut for years and Jim and his friendly staff always exceed expectations! Rooms here are rustic and cozy, and everything is clean and well-maintained. They have a nice bar/sitting area in the lobby perfect for some board/card games, stretching your legs a bit in the evening, or a little pregaming before you head to the bars elsewhere on the access road. (you can easily access the Killington bus as well as the Barrel Rider and any of the other free bar buses/taxis from here)nnThe icing on the cake though is the legendary breakfast! Made to order pancakes and omelettes just about any way you like, with local VT ingredients all the way down to the real maple syrup. Being one of the best breakfast spots on the access road, lots of people from the area wander in for a hearty meal before hitting the slopes...but breakfast is FREE if you're staying here.nnIf you're OK giving up some resort-style amenities in exchange for a very reasonably priced stay right on the access road, plus one of the best breakfasts you could want, look no further!!

We stayed here on our honeymoon 26 years ago in December of 1993. We will never forget the couple from Texas that ran the place and their huge breakfasts! Many memories were made here for us! Can still see the Seinfeld show playng in my memory!

I stayed here and absolutely loved it. the breakfast was to die for. I believe the cooks name was Greg and he was amazing made everything feel just like home and helped us find dinner in the surrounding town. I'll be returning for another week this winter. BEST PLACE TO STAY FOR KILLINGTON SKIING

Had a wonderful stay at the Butternut Inn! The rooms are nothing fancy, but are nice a comfortable for up to 4 people (most likely skiiers). But the breakfast was amazing!nnImportant note, the water out of the taps is soft water, and very hard to drink. If you want normal hard water to drink, there is a water container in the dining area you can fill your water bottle up at. Was a life saver.
