We stayed here for 4 nights, and we had a great experience. The room was comfortable, bright, clean, and elegant. The shower stall in the Shakespeare room was too narrow, even though we're small people.nnThe breakfast was delicious. The eggs were always souffled to perfection; the bacon and sausages (on different days) cooked perfectly; and I'll be dreaming of the homemade scones for a long time.nnThe Parke family were great hosts. Greg shared interesting information about the house and the area. We always had plenty of space and calm to ourselves. The rooms are quiet, we could only hear the other guests when they were outside their rooms.nnWe were mostly interested in hiking and swimming, and we found enough places to visit in the area. The area doesn't offer much in terms of healthier food, but there are many farm stalls that sell fresh produce and fruits. The Marble Mansion has at least one fridge we could use to store our food.nnThree cats and one very small happy dog live in the Mansion. The cats are mostly on their own, and two of them even let themselves be petted.

Charming, historic, very reasonably priced bnb.nAwesome place to stay, we detoured from I-87 to stay here and are very likely to do so again in the future.nOwner was delightful to talk to, clearly ex-military, and the property and room reflected a commensurate attention to detail and cleanliness.nThe breakfast was top-notch.nWe enjoyed the pets, especially the cat Star.nWhile we were given a -very appreciated- room upgrade, the upgraded room (unlike the one we had chosen initially) did not have a bathtub! (we wanted to soak our feet after adk backpacking). But that wasn't enough of an issue for us to even bring it up.n5/5 would go out of my way to get a room here again.

It's a grand and historic place. Absolutely gorgeous and very well priced. Greg and Sharon Parke are so friendly and welcoming. I suggest going very slowly in the driveway, and since you have to go under the porte cochere, l wouldn't recommend anything much larger than my Ford Explorer. LOVE THIS PLACE!

Can’t think of anywhere else I would stay in Vermont. A must stay! Super cozy, comfy beds, and incredibly creative room names. (Rooms are named after famous authors like Jane Austin and JRR Tolkien!.) Oh, and the breakfast is the best without a doubt: especially the bacon. The owners are amazing and a great conversation.

What a wonderful experience! Staying here really made our vacation in VT special - starting every day with a sumptuous breakfast with home-made scones and egg souffles, with maple glazed bacon and delicious coffee, and retiring every night on one of the best mattresses I've ever slept on. The ambiance is wonderful, you can't beat 19th century elegance with modern amenities.
