Seymour Lake Lodge B&B

I went up for a friend's wedding and I was really impressed. It is a small family-owned lodge that is very well maintained. The family who owns the property are extremely nice people, and even came out and enjoyed the fire pit with us! It was a very loud and late night, but they didn't say anything at all. They made sure we felt very welcome and comfortable. They have two nice cats who scurry around- I think they are used to people being there and just want to do their own thing lol.nnIt is important to know when booking, that the stairs to the rooms are very steep and narrow- extremely common in older homes. It made me a bit nervous though of someone falling (including the caretakers!). If you have limited mobility, I would speak with them to see what they suggest.The rooms are very nice and the entire place just feels like home. I loved being able to sway on the huge front porch in the morning with a hot cup of coffee. The porch overlooks the lake, and it is just beautiful and peaceful in the morning. It was a very nice experience. My son is 3 and made friends with Al and even wanted to go back inside to find him to give him a hug before we left.nnSomething else I think is extremely important to mention, is that they are HONEST. Their fabulous demeanor while you are there isn't just a front. I accidentally forgot my wedding rings on the dresser! We live about two hours from Boston, so it wasn't an easy turn-around if I noticed. Before we even got home, the owner's son found my husband on facebook and sent him a very basic message asking if I had forgotten anything. I am sure he didn't want to say what it was so that he could make sure it actually made it to the right person, which was very much appreciated. He said not to worry and that he would mail them back to us! If that wasn't enough, he didn't just throw them in an envelope, he sent them to us packaged in a way to protect them.nnThis is a great place with great people and I look forward to visiting again. If you are looking for a place to sit back, relax, and look out over the lake, this is the place.
