Best place to stay. Amazing host.

Two families - cousins - stayed at this wonderful school house in the middle of a peaceful and beautiful island. Carol is a fabulous hostess. The shower and bathroom facilities were perfect for our families' needs. The dorm atmosphere was just fine - the beds just right. Carol's breakfasts were perfect and filling. A great time was had by all - we hope to be back in the near future.

We stayed 4 nights at this funky and relaxing B&B with our two toddlers.nCarol is such a wonderful host and made a yummy breakfast for us each morning - with a spread that included eggs made to order, good organic coffee, an assortment of healthy cereals, breads and juices, and homemade baked banana nut muffins that were perfect w a slathering of butter!!nWe stayed upstairs in a spacious former classroom that still contains chalkboards, toys and books. So cool!nThe kids played in the backyard; we picked and ate endless wild black raspberries; fed the chickens, picked veggies and herbs from Carol’s garden; and swayed on the hammock while listening to the breeze move through the large trees overhead. We spent time at the nearby Alburg Sand Dunes - beautiful sandy beach on Lake Champlain.nWe stopped by the Fisk Farm for a Sunday Tea Garden party, and attended daily Mass at the historic St Anne’s Shrine. On one rainy day, we traveled to the state capital, Montpelier, and to Waterbury to visit the Ben & Jerry’s ice cream factory.nWe were able to decompress and temporarily leave behind our worries and stresses. The Vermont vibe is relaxed and friendly, and truly an escape.nHighly recommend!!

We spend a night there during a bicycle tour of the islands. We enjoyed Carols company and she made sure we had a hardy breakfast before seeing us off on our bikes. Room and beds were comfortable, but we especially enjoyed the historical charm of the old schoolhouse.

Stayed in the old classroom. Little/no privacy, more like a bunk room vs. true b&b. Thus, a late arrival woke everyone in the room. About eight beds total, all share one tiny lavatory and one shower, so that's not terribly convenient. Decent breakfast but the eating area is crowded. Having the hostess and her friend join in, including on the conversations, every day at breakfast made it even more crowded. Overall, a bit like staying with one's maiden auntie.
