Always helpful and very nice! Awesome service
Bill the owner is excellent! Does great work, I highly recommend this bike shop!
My Trek sat in the garage for 4 yrs. Finally dropped it off at Bicycle World late last week. The gentleman I spoke with told me he has owned the shop for only 3 months. Bottom line, he looked it over and told me what it was going to take to fix and then check it all out. I also asked about a basket for my dog, and he gave me his opinion. Only 5 hrs. later he phoned to tell me it was ready to be picked up. Doggo and I have already taken many short rides and bike rides great.
I had a problem with my disc brakes, I took my bike in and Bill adjusted them for me thank you very much and I recommend to all.awesome shop I will be returning for all my future bike issues
The older man that works here is a grinch. Two stars for the efforts from the younger man (I do not know their names) to make up for where the other was lacking. I apologize for describing them this way, but it is the best I can come up with.
This is my experience here. I'm shopping for a bike shop. I visited this shop after visiting Bicycle Outfitters back when they were on Stockton Hill. I wanted to see what bike brands they had, and do a general comparison of the two major bike shops in town. They primarily only keep mountain bikes in stock, and the selection is small, but that is absolutely appropriate for a small mountain town.
One of the nuts on my water bottle cage was stripped, and I asked for them to help me get it loose. The older man frees it in a couple of seconds. Then he charged me $10.
Ok....that's fair, I asked for a service, and that service was received, so I will pay the bill. However, if you are trying to build your customer base, then that's a flawed strategy. You know $10 is a blatant rip-off. I know it. You know it.
That was all it took to seal the deal. I would never again return to Bicycle World, and it was an easy decision.
A part of me wonders if there was something about me he did not like, and was trying to ensure I would not return. I only say this because as stated above, the old man was a grinch who made no efforts to be cordial at any point while I was in the store. The $10 ripoff was the cherry on top that really blew my mind.
I will take the optimistic route and just assume that he was taking advantage of a mechanically challenged chump. I will also assume that he's just not a people person and that is his permanent demeanor.
If you go to Posh Pedal Boutique they will not charge you $10 for something as ridiculous as freeing a stripped bolt. In fact, I can promise you that they would happily do that for free. They immediately helped me with free bolts and nuts that would be a better fit for my water bottle cage.
I hope the old man reads this, and learns something. Don't take advantage of potential customers. I hope that $10 was worth the $1000+ I spent at Posh Pedal (Previously Bicycle Outfitters). I should add that this story occurred sometime in either December or January of 2016-2017.
Finally, the fact that this store has nothing but 5 star reviews below mine should raise some serious red flags. All those reviews are essentially rehashing the same positive adjectives in a loop and the substance within the review is to shallow to take seriously.
