I have been staying at Black Bear for more than 5 years now and the place seems to be getting worse every year. Rooms, however, were always old, dark and smelly. Breakfast has significantly deteriorated in the last few years. Service is non existent. People who work there are usually nice and friendly but you can see that the management is pretty bad (these are not the people at the front desk). Most menu items at the onsite Restaurants, table 43.1, have deteriorated to the point of almost being inedible (it used to be OK).nnIt is very convenient if you are skiing at Stratton though and that is why I keep going back but I am seriously reconsidering now.
Really nice place to stay while skiing at Stratton. Rooms are a little old and the air conditioners are a little noisy, but still pretty cozy and very family oriented. The included breakfast is also pretty good, so overall a good place to stay...
Very comfortable place...love it
Staying here for the weekend for a wedding. Everything was amazing from the rooms to the staff. The views are amazing. What can I say it was a fantastic trip and we will absolutely be coming back for more trips in the future!
I liked this Lodge since it's towards the back of the Stratton where it's nice and quiet. Everything is accessible with a short walk. Room was nice and clean. But there is a naturally musky spell.
