Red Roof Inn & Suites Dover Downtown

Front desk was very nice. Got to the room and it smelled very strong like a floral dryer sheet, we opened up the room hoping it was just cleaned and needed to air out. Later that afternoon we called the front desk to complain as it had not gotten any better. Was told the hotel had no other rooms like the suite we had, it was one of a kind. We made a reservation for a new hotel that night for the following day. Next morning I called the front desk to tell them we were checking out and would need the rest of the reservation refunded. Had a week stay reserved. Was told they would give me a different suite and that the one next to us was identical to ours and available. Told them I wish I had been told that the night before, already made a new reservation. Had been lied to by the night person. Everyone else was nice and the rooms were awesome but the smell was too much. Would return but would check the room before paying.

HORRIBLE ESTABLISHMENT!!! Told us the elevator broke down the morning of check in and we heard staff telling new guests, as we were checking out, the very same LIE!! To top things off, we were booked on the TOP floor and had to use the stairs with all of out luggage. Door locks did not work, appearing to be have been kicked in at some point and never repaired properly. Windows had no screens and when open, is wide enough for anyone to trip and fall out of. No breakfast as posted on trip advisor either. You get what you pay for I guess. Will NEVER patronize this location agian.

Me and my bf stayed one night here. The room itself was small but nice but the bathroom was very tiny. The door just about hits the toilet when you open it. But the worst part was the bed ! We woke up and were getting ready to leave when we noticed a BED BUG!!! We were both upset because we just slept in this bed!!! I brought the desk guy up and we picked the bed bug up and proceeded to tell us that’s not what it was and that we can look up a picture. When I did look up the picture it was the exact same bug that was on the bed and he still continued to claim it wasn’t! He ended up giving us 25% off but we still slept in that bed!!! Wouldn’t recommend.

Just ok, rooms where clean. But nothing outstanding about it. Just ok

Great place to stay. Very clean, accomidating, & comfortable. The man behind the check in desk was absolutely awesome, very friendly, pleasant, no request was a problem, and professional. Would recommend it.
