Duo Housing

This would have been a 4 start review, but I woke up my last night in the hostel at around 1 am to a bright light, which turned out to be someone standing int he middle of the room with their phone out and what seemed to be them taking a picture of me. They were facing me with the flashlight on and were zooming or something on the screen, when I covered my eyes up they turned the screen off and quickly ducked out of the room. It looked like the front desk worker who checked us in. So I spent the rest of my night terrified and got very little sleep.nnAfter looking into whatever that was, I would make a few suggestions to the owner of the hostel, based on my stays in other hostels. It would greatly increase the comfort to add curtains around each bed, that way you can have some privacy in your sleep. That would also help with the temperature. It was hot in the rooms which made it difficult to sleep, but the completely open beds lack the privacy necessary to remove your outer layer of clothing to deal with the heat. It would also be nice to include 1 or 2 coat hangers for each bed, to hang your shirt on, and an outlet/ 2 spot power strip. Every other hostel I've been to has included these things. My other hostel experiences were all in Japan, so I don't know if they are standard around the world, but it definitely makes the experience far more comfortable to have just that little bit of privacy while you're sleeping.

It's great hostel, I didn't expect much but it's very nice and clean. The best part was meeting all the cool people. If I'm in DC again, definitely will be staying here.

Hostel was in a perfect location, I walked everywhere and for the price...this place is a must! It’s a simple place, but simple is good. The rooftop is a lovely bonus! Caro the front desk worker was rude and dirty looks my whole stay (even when I gave her chocolate). She kept trying to make me pay a second time...even made me show her my bank statement then still said I didn’t pay...eventually she must of remembered how to do her job because she eventually went to the right screen on the computer. Train your employees correctly instead of accusing your guest...I didn’t even get an apology. Also 1 dish towel is not enough for a kitchen, there’s should be a drawer full so guest can have clean ones to use!(:

The staff is outstanding very polite and Khalid nice cat very friendly showed me the facility!!!nnThe hostel was clean my room is excellent meet my expectations!!!nI will definitely give 5 stars great price!!!nAnd I will be back

They call themselves a 2-star hostel, i can understand why, it’s not as “nice” as more expensive hostels. This place is a good deal for what they offer.
