This is not a traditional hotel. Some people are residents and some are staying for a couple of nights. It is located near the China Town section of DC. There is a metro stop around the corner. Great place to stay if you are attending an event at the Verizon Center. It also not far from 395. The party room is well decorated and the roof top lounge offers a nice view of the Washington Monument. Beware: Parking is expensive and the front desk is truly not there for the short stay people.

My son and I stayed at Suite Home America in early July 2017 and had a great time. We checked in with just a name and ID. We did not have a car, we actually got off the train from Philly, and walked 1/2 mile to the place using my Google maps on my phone; I cannot comment on parking. But, I would think parking anywhere around the DC area would suck. The Google Maps on my phone took us right to the place; which isn't actually on Mass Ave, but on 4th between G St and H St. Not sure how they figured that out, but that is where it is. If you can find WiseGuy Pizza on the corner, the Suite Home America door is one door down from there. The signage on the front of the building is basically just an address on a plaque, on the wall next to the glass, double doors, leading into the lobby. I missed it when I walked by. It does not jump out at you, and the plaque is not facing the street, but is tucked on the wall, next to the door, at an angle. I would imagine it would be almost impossible to see if you were driving (especially at night) by the place. (Just look for WiseGuy pizza - that place is easy to see). The front doors are secured, so you will need to be buzzed in. The front office staff was professional, and a few seemed somewhat personable. I did not find them rude or overly nice, just there. They seem to have limited knowledge of the Suite Home America program/suites. They hand out a notebook with all the information, rules, and checkout expectations of the place. The Suite itself was clean. The stackable washer and dryer in the huge bathroom was such a blessing after travelling for a few days prior to DC. The kitchen had silverware, pots, pans, dishes, and although cheap, were usable and worked. There were a few spices in the cupboard that others had left; we also left spices we did not want to take with us. We had everything we needed to cook and eat food. The dishwasher worked well. The TV worked well, and so did the Wi-Fi. The oven had an element out, and when we reported it to the front desk, they seemed to already know, or not sure what to do with the information. The elements were also slightly askew, but that was a small thing for me. The pool was very close to suite 829, just up the stairs on floor 10. Met quite a few nice people at the pool. The view of the capitol building (day or night) from the pool, was A-MAZ-ING, although there was also a ton of construction going on the block over from this place. Suite Home America is in a great location. You could walk to all the sights, but we chose to use taxis and Uber. Next time we may rent bikes. We would return to this place again. It allows us to be independent, in a secure, quite building. Wallmart (with a grocery) is two blocks away. Whole foods is 1-mile away, and I think Safeway is about 4-blocks away. There is a CVS pharmacy right across the street with a small travel section, and a mini grocery store (mostly frozen food and snack items). I would recommend this place... it really worked for us.

Worse experience ever. No signage. Had to drive around area for 10 minutes before i got out of car to just ask. Woman at front desk was useless. Told me should not check us in with suite number. When I said I did not have one told me we could not check in., could not give us a way to get number . Wasted 45 minutes not being able to checked in. Called suite home where I was yelled at by staff. Run from here.
