Absolute chaos of a pharmacy. Don't assume they will actually fill your prescription when it's sent in or contact you if there's any issues. I gave them three tries. Each time I waited a week after prescription was sent in, and all three times they did not have my prescription. No problems with insurance , they just didn't have it in stock and never ordered it or didn't have the proper internal forms, but never bothered to contact me to let me know there was a problem. I also tried to call all three times ahead of time and would wait on hold for 30 minutes or more before giving up.

This is the closest drug store/pharmacy to my home. My current insurance plan practically dictates that I go to CVS, which is a problem in itself, but not something I’m rating here. All CVS stores are overpriced with exceedingly long receipts having coupons never to be used because you won’t have them on you when they’re needed. Certainly not environmentally friendly nor consumer friendly. But this is also not what I’m here to critique.nnI am leaving this review to counter the collection of poor ratings, as I have generally had very good interactions with the people who work at this store - both the front staff and the pharmacy staff. I would like to thank them for their efforts and tolerance of some of the craziness they must endure. I have seen them handle difficult situations and people as best they can, and efficiently work their way through long lines of impatient customers.nnThe store itself is in terrible shape, but my impression is that this has more to do with lack of corporate support. Shame on them. This is in a prime location near a metro station and with significant development going on all around. In fact, it is the ground floor of recent development, including luxury apartments and other new shops. And there is brand new mixed use development going in (that might include some completion) almost across the street. Yet the front doors keep breaking, the photo machines are old and variably functional, and the store has a generally run down feel. Corporate should be supporting this location and putting more money into maintenance and staffing.

Please get some new staff for the pharmacy!! The ladies back there are so inefficient. My doctor sent over (2) RX for filling the day before. When I arrived, I was told they didn’t get anything. My response was “you didn’t get anything”? What does that mean, the doctor sent it yesterday. Then, she said we don’t have the medication. So, I repeated it for clarification... so you did get the request but you just don’t have the medication? This very disruption happened a month ago with a different doctor. The pharmacy area had sanitizer wipe clothes all over the floor. I waited soooo long that I asked shall I come back. It seemed like I was bothering them... The staff inside this pharmacy REALLY NEED TO BE REPLACED!!

I called today four times the first 3 times I was holding on the line then they lady said hello I picked up my phone and she hung up then they just ended my call the second and 3rd time the 4th time someone answered and they cant even help me do delivery during this pandemic

UPDATEnI finally got fed up and tried to transfer my prescriptions to Rite Aid. The pharmacist at Rite Aid was never able to get through, this pharmacy never answered the phone. I am going in person tomorrow to direct them to transfer everything over, but it is truly frustrating when you can’t even leave a business because of how poor the customer service is.nnThis CVS showcases that good old Washington DC can't-do customer service. Naturally there are no ways to manage your prescriptions online, but you should really only call if you enjoy that sophisticated scratchy piano hold music, because no one is going to answer. If you go in person you can expect to be greeted with the quintessential customer-is-always-wrong kind of attitude I have come to appreciate in Washington. Just make sure you are more prepared to direct your health experience than the actual pharmacy assistants, and you'll possibly be able to argue your way into some decent (or at least complete) service.
