This is a period hotel, so expect the furnishings predominantly to reflect days gone by. That makes it a must try. However, that being said, our room had blinds instead of drapes which made it a bit too bright for me for a good night’s sleep. A vending machine would have helped to get a bottle of water or soda, or snacks even if I needed to go to the first floor. I suggest taking a small cooler, as there are no small fridges, and the water tastes of chlorine. During the pandemic the restaurant menu is leaning toward more local flare, so no steak or salad choices for a meal. If you want a good chili burger it is there. Town is a bit of a walk, but Charlie’s Spic n’ Span (converted laundry to restaurant), has awesome New Mexican breakfast and lunch. The train ride from Albuquerque to the hotel was an awesome delight.

I had the glazed chili wings and the Hamburger. Bothell were delicious but a bit pricey. However under the current world circumstances its understandable. The outside atmosphere was great and beautiful. All Covid19 safety precautions were followed by staff and customers alike. Wearing masks when need be never seemed to be an issue which always sets a great and comfortable environment and one can enjoy a delicious meal. Staff were professional and very nice. A great and worthwhile experience.

We were very disappointed that we could not eat in the dining room or on the patio as that wasn't open until 3pm.

The rooms and hallways smelled of paint or another strong chemical for our entire stay. (Not COVID disinfectant). I was told there would be a $50 deposit (refundable upon inspection for damage) to have our dog with us plus a $10 per day charge. When we arrived, we were told there was nowhere on the property to walk our dog and that we would have to take her to a park two blocks away. What? “Pet friendly.” I think not.
