This is one of the best hotels I've visited in New Mexico. The building is beautiful, and the decor is top notch. The rich history, and folklore behind it makes it a great destination. Many movies have been shot here, and many famous people have stayed here, so there's plenty to catch up on once you've checked in. I stayed in room 319, which is the John Carpenter Room. I highly recommend it.
Adorable, historic hotel with antique charm. Staff went above and beyond and even offered to help me with my bags and bring my food delivery to my room. Beds very comfortable. Shower had nice pressure and soap and lotion smelled great. May have been some non threatening paranormal activity throughout the night.
I was just passing through but I love the feel of this hotel. Everything was steeped in a historic feel but all updated. The standard room had vaulted ceilings, a one of a kind head board, and a hand made silver mirror. I could not find a refrigerator in the room. There are large staircases that make you feel royal (as well as elevators for bringing up your stuff) and a little store inside the lobby if you wanted to grab any talovera pottery, rugs, or silver items. Loved the plaza in the front that made it easy and enjoyable to walk around the town.
VERY DISAPPOINTED! Stayed Sept. 9th expecting to have a nice dinner and paid extra for a view room. Web site showed the restaurant was open. Upon arrival the desk clerk advised the restaurant was closed! She showed no concern that the web site was wrong. We have eaten there before, but not be back. Maybe a little honesty on the web site would be nice. I'll have to think twice about staying here again with this lack of customer service!
Because Michelle Obama stayed here, as well S Tommy Lee Jones and several other stars and celebrities like the Coen Brothers. It truly is a historic hotel that has retained its last century style charm. The only problem is that not all rooms have refrigerator and the restaurant is closed because of the COVID 19 outbreak.
