BMO Bank of Montreal

Awful customer loyalty and experience. Always a long wait- seven people stand around talking while there is one teller and 10 people in line. No customer understanding at all. Lack of compassion for people’s situations, especially in a pandemic. Pretty sure I’ve made multiple payments to my line of credit that have not registered. As a young professional with no kids, I will be taking my money and business elsewhere after my loan is done.

This is truly the worst bank I've ever been to. The staff are painfully slow and under-trained; consistency between services from day to day is nearly non-existent. One day you're good and can do everything you need to; the next, nope, can't even cash a cheque. There are times I've been waiting to be helped when there are two staff working and end up waiting for 5 minutes while they talk to each other. I stood in line for 45 minutes once when there were only two people being helped and two in front of me. I have avoided this bank like the plague ever since. Their hours are terrible. The staff, while usually kind, truly don't seem to know what they're doing most of the time and don't show a lot of initiative when it comes to helping or resolving issues. I'm not surprised that I've seen so many people close their accounts while I've been there getting banking done. It's truly a shame; I would have hoped to see some improvement over time but it's only getting worse. Significantly worse.

They have the door locked and you hwve to wait for someone to come ask you questions. When she does she peeks through a tiny crack in the door to ask the questions as though you're spewing germs at them. Not very welcoming. Especially considering the bank teller didnt even have her ask over her nose....

I’m sorry. This is the most frustrating branch to deal with. As per another review below. They NEVER answer the phone. They NEVER call you back and if they do it two or three days later. This has happens to me in multiple occasions. Today was the last straw. I called and left TWO voicemails (after multiple calls and just letting it ring and ring and ring) yesterday in regards to transferring some money (I am unable to do this online) into my account for a payment that was coming out today. Well they never called me back and now...my payment has bounced. NOT COOL! I don’t understand why there isn’t a person (maybe a manger) dedicated to listening to voicemails as soon as they come in in the morning and reply to them promptly. Customers should not be experiencing this much difficulty trying to reach their bank.

I can see why this particular BMO branch has bad reviews. Their service is terrible. They never answer the phone, they take too long to call back when you leave a message and they can't even get an online booking right. It's too bad they don't take comments like these seriously and try to improve their business.
