While the lady who helped me go over my old account was very nice and very helpful, the front tellers, two specifically were busy gossiping with each other about clients while a line up of people formed. I made eye contact with one of the individuals only to see him pull out his cell phone and wander off. This kind of behaviour is not unusual for lot of businesses I visit but I will call it out when I see it from now on in hopes of change.

If you are looking for a bank with the SLOWEST IMAGINEABLE SERVICE, this is the branch for you.

Refused to exchange a torn $20 dollar Canadian bill due to not being a RBC client customer. Basically, if you are not a client they choose not to help you is my understanding of this kind of ignorance. A 20 dollar Canadian bill was ripped apart as it was snagged in my wallet. Driving by this RBC branch, it was the closest bank to get an exchange. After waiting in line for quite some time (it was this Monday at 10am) and after explaining to the bank teller of what had just occurred, he had to go to his colleague examine the torn bill together, then proceeded to go to the back and speak with a supervisor or manager about the matter. After this drawn out examination and inquisition, all he could do was tell me due to not having a bank card (proving to be a RBC client), he could not do anything for me and then proceeded to taped up the bill and told me to go to my own bank. With shock, I proceeded to the TD bank down the street. After telling this bank teller about the torn bill, she immediately took the bill, examined it, placed it in a bag and was using a computer and instantly was handing me a completely brand new $20 Canadian bill. She did not ask for any identification, needed proof that I was a TD client, or needed to see a client card or wanted a complete story of how the bill came to be in two pieces. She saw legal Canadian currency and assisted with the matter at hand. It was a fully legal, non-fraudulent Canadian bill that happened to be torn and needed to be exchanged for a fully whole one that merchants would not be weary to accept. I told her about what happened at RBC and she looked as shocked as I was of how I was treated and the refusal by them to do a simple exchange. Yes, I am a TD client and happy that they helped me and knowing that anyone who is not a client they would help also (as they did not know I was a client prior to helping me). With the possibility that any person could be a potential client, does not cross the minds of those in this branch in the way they treat people as they would anyone they already deal in business with. Their actions and disregard to someone in need of something so basic has given me insight to what kind of character they have as an institution. Having read a few reviews since the incident, they seem to treat their clients not as good as you would think if they only exclusively deal with their own. Not having business with this bank will get you no help from this branch and maybe other RBC branches as well? As one may believe, every branch is a representative of the organization as a whole. Maybe this particular branch need some lessons about customer service like getting some from the TD down the street, then maybe they will understand what great customer service really means and to understand what others expect and respect from the other side of the counter when their serving them.

Was looking to set up a small business account and was booked for an appointment the following day. When I showed up for the appointment I was told the person they had booked it with wasn't there that day and was told the person who had booked us the previous day would look after us. After patiently waiting 15 minutes after my appointment time, instead of helping me see someone or acknowledge me, the individual took the next person in the wicket line up. I got up and left at that point because obviously my time and business isn't valuable to them.

I have had nothing but terrible service at this branch. Rude employees and totally incompetent... take your business elsewhere if you can.
