RBC Royal Bank

Never seen this before, Rakesh Shah the bank manager was being rude to a customer that was asking simple questions. Every time the lady would ask a question he would reply "make an appointment" even when the lady softly asked "why are you being rude to me" Rakesh Shah said "make an appointment". Rakesh Shah turned his back to the customer walked away and said "make an appointment" a few more times, Childish. Unfortunately he was called over to look at my situation and my experience was not much better. Spent a few minutes arguing with Rakesh Shah and did not get done what I came to do, simple activation of on my debit card.

It seems that rudeness is a common practice of this particular branch employees. My mortgage specialist, Anna Dmitrieva, in her email to me suggested that I have a memory loss or dementia after I asked her a very reasonable question related to a newly obtained home mortgage. She advised me to contact my lawyer, not her, and refresh my memory. I was shocked!

Very slow branch. I have been to this location a few times and each time the visit was unpleasant. I usually avoid this bank unless I'm going in to use the ATM. The service at this bank is none existent. The employees are rude and unwelcoming. You never get a proper hello or a warm smile. Each time I was there, I noticed it's always dead in this bank. but still, somehow the service is always slow because the workers are always ignoring the customers who are waiting and chit chatting with each other. Today, I needed some coins and unfortunately had to go to the taller. Being a Saturday, it was near closing time. I walked in at 3:49 pm. There was one other customer in the bank besides me. First, I was ignored for a whole min and a half while three other tellers who were not with customers sat at their desks staring at their computers ignoring the fact that I was waiting in line. Then, finally one of them reluctantly looks up at me. When I got to the teller I was shocked how unfriendly and abrupt she was. Well, actually I wasn't because like I said this branch is notorious for this. The best part? As I am leaving, I walk by the two employees who are now pulling on their coats, standing by the door gossiping. They didn't even care that they were engaging in gossip in front of a customer. Like seriously? Couldn't they wait or stop for a second as i walking by then continue after I have walked out of the building? Extremely unprofessional! I think this will be my last visit here, i rather drive a bit further to their other location.

Was not impressed with the manager at this location. Usually my experiences with RBC are great, but the manager was pushy and insincere. He was inquisitive about my dealings with other banks as well as my mortgage with another bank. Gave 2 stars because the woman at the counter was very helpful and kind.

Royal Bank wont honour a lawyer drafter power of attorney document so family members can take care of a seniors account and reinvest a term that has matured. Beware. They want the seniors medical records; since when is a bank qualified to determine someone's health, or the senior declared uncapable. Why would someone do that to their parent. They say they are worried about seniors being abused by their children... What about breaking the law RBC. People spend a lot of money doing estate planning and life management, and then you do what you want. It's been a month and they still won't honour the POA. SHAME RBC.
