RBC Royal Bank

No complaints. Been with RBC 30+ years and this branch for 10+. Friendly staff, drive through ATM is convenient.

This branch has gone downhill since they removed the information desk and changed to separate counters from the large desk. The last three times I have seen staff standing around while customers are in line, and today there was one staff member at the counter while about 5 staff doddled around in plain sight. I go to the Scotiabank, and they still have the information desk and many tellers available. I have been a member of RBC since 1993 (27 years), and I am not impressed. I blame the branch manager!

RBC is a great bank and has some of the best accounts and services available, but the customer service at this branch falls far short. While most of the staff are good, there a few, including a manager, who seem to forget that they are providing a service to a customer, not someone who has no other choice. The experience is similar to that of many government offices. Many of the "advisors" seem to have done little more than a crash course in finance. In one particular instance I wanted to redeem an RRSP voucher earned through points on a credit card there towards a particular investment. After the advisor went through the program to determine "what kind of investor I was", it provided a list of recommended investments, none of which were the one I was interested, but I was told I would have to redeem the voucher for one of the investments listed, and transfer it online later. Great value in the accounts, particularly when bundling financial services, but if customer service and competent financial advice are what you are looking for, avoid this branch. A constant exception to this is the mortgage specialist Jonathan Powely, who provides unbiased advice based on your best interests, and not his commissions.

I don't have anything in minus so one star is ok. Worst service at Vedder road Chilliwack branch. Lack of knowledge in employees and undertrained employees including useless manager on duty. They need to be trained again. Rude behavior. No more banking with this branch. Closing all accounts including my friends and family's soon.

Customer service in the drive through is not good. In fact second poorest only to the Yale Rd. Location near the train bridge. They actually tossed my change at me. This one at least lets you get away with a coffee not right.
