Had a really good experience here. Roberto was a kind man and very patient and honest. They gave me a decent car. Radio usb did work, but all in all the small Suzuki 4x4 climbed the steep inclines when needed and got through the streams. If you rent from SJO, they have the flexibility to waive insurance and you can use the collision coverage provided on your credit card. But while booking for Alamo SJO on the CR site, they will force you to pay for those insurances. But once you get to the office they will remove the cost of you so choose

Very bad feedback because they impose you to take the fully assurance (20$ per day) when you have a “debit” card for the caution. Normally for the caution we have just to make a transfer until we give back the car not to have the obligation to take their fully assurance. Especially that we not needed when you have a Premium Visa card. We had to pay 300$ more than expected. We are not the only one to have this bad situation with this rental company.

Clean and quick with friendly service, but the cars they have are absolutely terrible. The first car we got didn't have it's up to date registration... We had to go back and return the car, the second one we got was driven by a bunch of people who had no idea how to use a stick shift.... The clutch was worn out and the gears were pretty damaged. Definitely not what was to have been expected for this price.

Very responsive and helpful service team. I accidentally booked a manual transmission 4WD with my air miles and was switched over to an automatic with no hassle, very much appreciated :)

Alamo it's simply the best rent a car in Costa Rica. The other ones have thousands of hidden fees try to make you buy insurance that you don't need and make it so complicated
