Staff was extremely professional with great customer service. They offered extras and explained everything in details but were not pushy to sell their services. I recommend booking directly through their website and not from a third party as they tell you exactly which insurance is required. We paid exactly the quote we were given on their website, no hidden or added fees. I had read horror stories from car rentals in Costa Rica, but I'm happy to say we had a great experience at Alamo!

Never rent from Alamo rent a car Costa Rica. My experience is that after 8 days of have returned the car and paid for the rental time they still have a hold of 500$ on my credit card. I talked several times with agents and seems that no one is capable to solve the problem. Now I'm in a foreign country and I'm not able to have access to my credit card because they have a hold on it.

Was told they held the car at a different location from what all of my confirmation emails said. Was refused a cab to the second location for the car, forced to walk 2 miles with heavy luggage only to find out they gave away the car I had reserved. No remorse from the employees or discount for the company’s mistake. Will never rent with Alamo again.

We were blamed for breaking a previously repaired rearview mirror which could have become a projectile and injure passengers in the event of a collision. Horrible customer service Erick Venegas Benamburg.

We rented by getting the quote on line through Price Line while in the U.S. But they included no cost for insurance and that is the most (unreal!) part about renting. But we had excellent service from beginning to end and extending our 5 day to 6 with just a phone call. We were going to Monteverde and they recommended an upgrade because the roads are very rough and we were most grateful for that advise. We used the Garmin all the time and they even programmed it for us from the places we were planning on going to the places we were planning to go. Without that guidance system we would have been lost most of the time since the roads where we were traveling didn't have much in the way of road signage.
