Sad to see all those bad reviews. Came in to send couple of international packages today. Guys there walked me through all the steps and customs forms. I was there for at least an hour. And they let me send it out even though when I finished the forms in was almost closing time. Good service and help. Thank you!
The Lake City USPS is my favorite post office with helpful staff, lots of mailing supplies and best hours.
Found a whole stash of mail for my immediate neighborhood in my apt building’s lobby recycling bin under our mailboxes. Whoever is delivering our mail from this PO is just dumping whole piles of people’s mail for other addresses in the trash instead of delivering it! A lot of it is junk mail (since that seems to be the majority of mail these days) but saw a handful of important looking envelopes from government, medical, etc agencies, as well. I continued checking now and then for a few weeks and new mail (for people not in our building) keeps getting thrown in there, including a few pieces of mail that had ended up in various tenants’ mailboxes for other addresses or for previous tenants that we had put above the mailbox for the courier to take back/return to sender. I’ve filled a whole large grocery bag full so far, but now I’m worried they’ll just throw it all in the garbage when I take it to the PO... :(
I found the employees to be not knowledgeable and not caring. I was given the wrong information by an employee and after my package came back to me as undeliverable they were rude and extremely bureaucratic sending me to jump through hoops instead of trying to help me. I couldn’t reach the manager for a long time to discuss and fix the situation. If you have choice, stay away from this location in Lake City. Poor management results in unhappy employees who hate their job and clients. It shows through interactions I observed while waiting to try to talk to the manager multiple times.nI do love other USPS locations in the area. Go to Kenmore or Woodinville instead - they are super helpful
I find them helpful and nice. Lines used to be longer, which, because it is a very small room - made me a little panicky, but now that people don’t use the mail much, unless it’s for same day couch, AAA battery, and snow-shoes delivery ... not so much a problem. Keep waiting to walk past and see 400 new homogenous overpriced apartments with no grass, personality, balconies, awnings, parking, or smiling people - in its place.
