The employees are helpful and work hard to deal with the crowds. If it were just employees and business hours they would get 5 stars, but the postal service went from 24 hours for the lobby access to ridiculously short hours. It isn't as if they are paying staff to keep the lobby open for 24 hour mailing of packages and letters so the shorter hours just screw over the community the postal service is supposed to be serving....and also paradoxically cut down on revenue the branch could generate. In other cities it is common for the postal service to cut hours of operation so revenue falls and then they use the lower revenue to justify closing the branch. Is the postal service attempting to close this branch?
This location seems to ALWAYS be busy, so be prepared. Staff is generally friendly, but they do sometimes seems curt. Honestly not surprising though given the amount of grief they do get from some customers, so I always try to be understanding. There is a machine in the front for self-service if you just need to buy some stamps or postage for a box.
We visited the Ashley River Road P.O. and the staff are always helpful and kind! So, we visit this one regularly!!
22 people in line, and only one clerk. Had to wait over an hour to mail 1 envelope overnight. To make it worse the clerk walked away for about 10 min to let someone fill out a form instead of helping the next person. Also, she repeatedly removed her mask.
