The staff is always pleasant and very helpful. Kayla has been especially helpful on more than one occasion when we’ve needed mail forwarded. Parking is a little tight but that’s how it is in a mountain town. Hours are clearly marked on the entrance and available online. If you click on the website you can view the local phone number.
Won't deliver packages and no parking except for USPS employees. If we were asked to develop this system today, no one would approve it.
This morning (saturday November 23 rd) I was tracking an expected delivery only to find that it had been delivered to the Lead, SD Post Office NOT the Deadwood Post Office. I discovered this at 10:15, PO close time on Saturday 10:30 but I called anyway and was AMAZED because the phone was answered, miss shipment of package confirmed AND Kayla volunteered to keep the PO open and wait for us to come pick it up! Completely unexpected and way beyond the response you might expect from a postmaster! THANK YOU, Kayla!
Professional staff, clean facility, neat building
Trying to contact the post office to confirm my package was there was a nightmare. There did not seem any way to talk to a human being.
