Line got super long and they brought out another employee to help at the counter. Line moved quickly and I've never seen such friendly service at the USPS. Very courteous with smiles and banter. They seemed happy to see and help customers. Great experience to mail out my package.

Staff here are not helpful and rushing you in the counter eventhough they are not done with your transaction. Poor service.

This post office staff is great but this morning under social distancing it was a mess. To have one person working the desk with this many people inside the post office is failed managment.

This place needs to extend their hours on Saturday when people are off and can run errands. Closing at 12:00pm is ludicrous!

First, I want to say that I have had a great experience here with one of the postal delivery clerks that drive around and deliver mail. They are out on the streets and went above and beyond, which ensured I received a package that was sent to me, where it might have otherwise been lost. Five stars for them. This is the only reason I did not give one star.nnUnfortunately, I cannot say the same about the inside staff. My wife went to open a post office box and filled out the online application. She was under the weather, so I went to the post office to finish the process. The postal clerk told me that I needed the form; okay, I would retrieve it and return. They did not say that my wife needed to be there or anything else. Regardless, I retrieved the form the next day, and this time my wife went with me. We stand in line, and when we get to the counter, the clerk says we need to validate our FL address. According to the website, we have 30 days to change out our ID's, and the form matched the ID's. Further, it states that we do not need to have an address, because we may be house/apartment hunting, so as long as we have a traceable address (which we did), we are okay. Anyway, I voluntarily step away from the counter and pull up our current lease on my phone. By this time, the teller has went to do something else, so we are offered assistance from the other teller. We get up there, and provide two id's for my wife, proof or residency, my ID, and my son's ID. My son is attending college in Norfolk, VA; however, while he was visiting for Spring Break and due to COVID-19, all his resident classes went online, and now he is here until the COVID-19 crisis is over. The next thing the clerk tells me is that we all three need to be there because he is over the age of 18. There are no further signatures required; we have proof of residency; we have four photo ID's with two more in queue if needed, all of which have the same last name; and now they want to see us all in person. I am not sure why it was so important to have him present; it wasn't like we were presenting an unofficial copy of anything or even requesting that the box have a different name on it; this supposed regulation is no where on the website. Further, in a time, where Broward County has nearly 20% of the COVID-19 cases in all Florida and the POTUS, CDC and FL Governor have emphasized social distancing, they want more people in the post office, when simple common sense could have prevailed.nnEveryone else in the nation is learning to adapt to the COVID-19 pandemic, but now you want me in the post office three times with more people when I provided all the documentation from the same family. Of course, I got the standard excuse...it's regulation. Of course, the requirements they identified are located no where on the USPS website for obtaining a mailbox. In a review of all the rules several times, once we had the correctly filled out form and ID's, we met all the requirements. As a matter of fact, we exceeded many requirement. Funny thing about regulations (actual ones); taxes are due April 15, wait the deadline was extended; banks for foreclose on those that haven't paid their mortgage, wait not during COVID-19 (you can't even evict anyone right now); the constitution provides us freedom of speech and religion...not right now, social gatherings at churches are prohibited...a constitutional right, but the USPS is not only exempt from any established rules, and to make matters worse, they are not even rules/regulations that are documented anywhere.nnUltimately, when we go back to get this box, they will have brought six customers in when it could have been one. Nice work USPS, way to help fight the COVID-19 pandemic. This is why Government workers get such a bad name. Some don't spend time reviewing rules; they either assume or go by what someone else said. More importantly, they forget that even though they work for the Federal Government, they are still in the service industry and there to serve the customer.
