I recently ordered some very rare and expensive plants for my aquarium. In the options for my shipping I chose the option to have my local post office hold the package for me, this way my plants wouldn’t sit out in the cold when delivered. On the day they were due to be delivered I never received an update email. So I figured I’d go down to the post office around the end of the day to see if maybe it was there but not scanned in yet. This happened to me a year ago and the guy simply checked, found it, and gave it to me all in less than a minute. So I figured it wouldn't be a problem this time, right? WRONG.nWhen I got there I made it a point to be very polite and straightforward with my request as I’ve been told by many that the usps has been dealing with lots of trouble lately. The first woman I talked to was extremely polite, professional, and made me feel welcome at the post office. I began to explain to her that I was there to just check for my package which was being held for me, and was potentially late because I had not received an update email. I was then rudely interrupted by an older woman with glasses. She came in out of nowhere and from the start was being extremely rude and egotistical. She started by saying “WE DONT HOLD PACKAGES”.nImmediately I knew this wasn’t true because I had done this before. Nonetheless I tried to be polite and explain that in my email it showed the exact address of this post office as my pickup location. She didn’t even let me finish my sentence before she began to talk over me and begin to yap about how they never hold packages. Again I tried to be mature about the situation and ask if she wouldn't mind just checking their packages. And again before I can even finish what I’m saying she cut me off again and began to call the other post offices nearby to see if they have my package and yelling at the other workers on the phone that she’s positive they dont hold packages! Finally after wasting a bunch of my time she goes and checks the two small bins of boxes they have and doesn’t find mine. Which took about 10 seconds and is all I asked to be done in the first place. She, again very rudely, told me we that they never hold packages and it will be in Wakefield rather than Narragansett the next day. So I told them with a smile to have a good night and left.nCome the next day I go down to Wakefield, they tell me my package is delivered but had some trouble finding exactly where it was. The women there was also extremely helpful, professional, and made me feel very welcome. After a little bit they manage to track the package and tell me its at the Narragansett post office where I originally started and where I thought it would be. So I go down there and it is the same two women working.nAgain I was extremely polite and the first woman extremely polite back. The second woman however still was being nasty. As I came to the window and told her I was there to pick up my package which was being held. She mumbled a bunch of stuff under her breath, rolled her eyes, and didn't even look at me or say a word to me. I think she really couldn’t handle the fact that she was wrong, especially after making such a scene about it.nI have never met a women of her age who still has such a big ego and is so immature/rude. My request could have taken her or her co worker at most 30 seconds. And for the majority of my time there, I was the only customer in line. Yet she decided to make a big scene and act like I was making her job so difficult and wasting her time. When in reality she wasted both her and my time, her coworkers time, the time of the people she decided to call, and her companies time.nI will be avoiding this post office in the future simply so I don't have to run into this child that looks like a 70 year old lady.

I paid for a package to be delivered on Valentines to my daughter. I paid for two day delivery on the 12th. It never showed up on the 14th. On Saturday the 15th a mail person pounded on my daughter's door demanding $13.60 for a package that was already paid. They stated there was no postage. I watched the Stoneham, MA post office place the large sticker postage on the package. I will assume that if it made it to Narragansett post office then the postage was on there which would mean that it was paid. My daughter had to go to the post office with the copy of the receipt to get her money back. What was supposed to be a surprise Valentines Day surprise ended up being a nuisance.

The post office and the delivery are the problem. Everytime I drop mail off to be sent out , it's always late and I drop it off 3 weeks in advance. When it snows..we get no mail. When it rains..we get no mail. When we actually do get mail it is at like 5 pm. The only time I ever see a mail truck is on Sundays (when no mail delivery) or during the week sitting on a side street with the driver in the van for about 20 minutes. My bills have been late and my credit may be in question due to incompetence or poor service. I am so contemplating going back to NJ where they deliver in ANY weather and on time.
