United States Postal Service

For some reason my mail keeps getting misdelivered and/or delivered late. I mailed a package that was set to be delivered at a Post Office a hour away yesterday. The tracking is showinged the package out for delivery in another state several hours away. The delivery address was correct on the package and my receipt. I haven't has any success with getting assistance; but I'm still trying. Unfortunately, this isn't my first delivery issue with this post office; but it will be my last time using them!

This post office is great! Everybody is soo very helpful! I recently moved here and they have gone out of their way to help me every way possible!!!

I like it here, I know every post office kind of has its ups and down but we live in Gray and the one here always has a line out the door and someone having a life story conversation with the single person that's working the desk. At least this place has two people most of the time maybe even three. I guess it depends on what time you go too. Anyway, I've never had a problem here and have gone in and out a lot more frequently than anywhere else. Good and friendly as well

I ship packages for an e-commerce store using PayPal to pay for and print shipping labels for all packages. Most shipments are packaged in a 10”x6”x1” padded yellow Manila Envelope and shipped First Class.nnAs you can see by the screen shot, the cost for one of these packages sent out recently was $2.78 First Class shipping from the State of TN. To the State of GA. with a package weight of 3 ounces.nnUSPS has determined that this package was underpaid by $10.46 even though they quoted me the original $2.78 for a 3oz. package In a small padded mailer which is pretty standard. Keep in mind that a First Class International Package at this weight and size costs $11.25 which is less than the “claimed” $13.20 for a Domestic Package that was shipped less than 4 hours away into GA.nnI was unable to continue shipping packages to paid customers until this supposed “underpayment” was either resolved by paying the fabricated fee of $10.46 or after an appeals process which could take up to 15 business days to determine. Which option do you think I chose?nnI understand that the USPS is severely lacking funds and is asking for more tax payer bail out money from Congress, but that doesn’t excuse the fact that they are falsely claiming underpaid postage and then using strong arm extortion tactics to reclaim fictitious deficits by preventing shippers from ordering and paying for postage until the deficit is resolved by either paying now to recover shipping privileges or waiting 15 business days or possibly more to receive a determination of underpayment or not from the USPS which determined the underpayment incorrectly in the first place.nnJust sad.

Everyone is usually friendly at this post office however I was recently shamed by an employee. I typically go to this location due to their extended hours. Unfortunately the pick up for their drop boxes is earlier therefore if I need something to go out the same day I have to take it to the desk. For the longest i always waited in line to simply hand the postal worker stamped and ready mail. I have been told more than once to just step in the exit door and pass the mail over to them since no interaction is needed. No need to stand in line in other words. I did this as instructed only to be met with a very loud and demeaning postal worker. He was very loudly told me that I was rude and that I needed to go through the line like everyone else. I did not cower and told him that I was simply doing what I had been told to do. He went on further to mumble about where I could put my mail. I asked him to speak up because I want to know what I should do next time. He indicated that I should go through the line but if I wanted to buck the system that I could put my mail on the far interior end of the counter. On my way out I loudly suggested that they all need to get on the same page. Next time, if met with such a rude acceptance, rest assured that I will not be intimidated and will simply explain again the instructions that I have been given by postal workers that are efficient and can multitask all while maintaining a pleasant attitude. Clearly this man is limited in his ability to interact appropriately and may need to stay behind the scenes. In all fairness not everyone has people skills but that should be recognized and remedied by management.
