This post office is mismanaged and should be looked into by USPS’s Inspector General. Last time I went there 2 weeks ago, the staff member was talking on the phone with a friend the entire time she was servicing me. She just didn’t care. I didn’t say anything because I had a prepaid package that only needed to be scanned it but her behavior was still inappropriate and unacceptable for a USPS location. Today I came to mail a package at 10:45am, 15 minutes after this office opens just to find it closed with a line outside the door. At 10:55am — after we rang the doorbell — a man appeared from the back fixing his shirt that he had just obviously put on, and proceeded to tell us that there was a technical difficulty and he needed 15 more minutes to open the office. In the meantime, the office’s lobby was entirely out of forms, packaging or any supplies. At 11:00 this staff member opened doors and helped the first customer without any problems. I asked him if he still had technical difficulties and he said he didn’t. So, did he or didn’t he have technical issues when he opened the office 30 minutes late? While I was finishing up filling out the forms, he pulled up a phone and started playing a video right at the counter! I’ve never seen such a mismanaged and unprofessional USPS office.
I walked in the afternoon. The doors were all unlocked and gave no clear indication that they were closed for lunch. I rang the bell and could hear people moving around in the back but got no answer. I rang the bell after a few minutes and finally a lady swung open the door to tell me they were closed from 12pm to 2pm for lunch in the rudest way possible like I was supposed to know this. I’ve never heard of the post office fully shutting down for lunch but how on earth can you be so rude when there is no signage anywhere?!?! Will not be returning to this location. I’d rather drive further if it gets me better service than this place gives.
Kind of shocked by how rude the clerk was. They also wanted me to put my package in a pile with others, out in the open where things could be easily lost or swiped - never have seen that before at USPS.
On August 6th, I handed a Priority mail in USPS Crystal city, and the mail was only delivered within Arlington County. I was informed that the mail was lost after 13 days.It was a serious mistake by USPS staff.nThe Staff member in the post office concerned was arrogant and ignored. This is a must - rate bad experience.
Never opens on time. Closes for a couple random hours during the day. Then closes early. I went again today at 12:30 and the employee was assisting one customer but would not let me in because they were closed until 2. Don't bother unless you go in during the 3 hours they are open.
