This is the most convenient US Post Office in the Washington DC Metropolitan area.

Usually, friendly staff. Lines move quickly.

This post office is open when most others are not. Most of the staff are very friendly. Sometimes there is a line, but usually not too bad. The lines at the 14th St Post Office are horrible. The folks milling around out front are usually harmless. Most are waiting for a bus to a shelter, I think.nnThe postal museum next door is a gem, and it’s free. It has a store where you can buy stamps that the regular post office probably does not carry. It also has a few rooms upstairs where you can browse neat exhibits and even create your own stamp.

This is my go-to post office b/c of its location and late hours. Service is quick here. The only reason I go to the Union Station branch is b/c they open earlier, otherwise I would go to this location every time. This branch is connected to the Postal Museum which is cool. If you need specific stamps, the museum has a stamp store!
