Wish I could give less than one. They overcharge for gas , nickel and dime you everywhere and have extremely rude and condescending staff. Don't even bother here.

I love this led company and especially appreciate Chelsea at the desk. There is also an amazing variety of vehicles to chose from. My only criticism is that there is no bathroom available for customers.Overall,I am a huge fan of this business and highly recommend the Dollar Rent A Car in NW Portland!

For several years I relied on this Dollar Rent a Car location for my rental car needs. However, in the middle of the Covid crisis, I needed a car to help a friend with disabilities get to a doctor’s appointment and pick up groceries. When I arrived to pick up the rental—walking three miles to get there—the chip on my card did not work in their credit card machine. That said, I was using the exact same card I had previously used at this location on several occasions. The associate working told me that he could not accept my card because the chip did not work. A bit surprised, I asked if there was a policy available to review stating that a credit card could not be swiped. The associate told me I was being aggressive and threatened to call the police when all I did was simply request to review their credit card policy. He got very aggressive to the point where I felt unsafe engaging with him. It was honestly the worst customer service experience I’ve ever had, and I say that as a person who has worked in food service for 15+ years. I ended up walking to Enterprise, and paying a bit more, but my card (even with its malfunctioning chip) was accepted, and I was even given a 10% discount because they recognized the absurdity of the situation I had just left. Needless to say, from my experience, the staff at this Dollar location are not concerned with effective customer engagement or loyalty, and they will not be getting business from me again. Have a back-up card and thick skin ready if you chose to rent from this establishment.
