There was a slight misunderstanding but after I asked about it, Jasmine fixed & explain boom satisfied customer. Everything was easy, from online to counter, rental & return. Good job Avis. The line to check-in was very long with only 2 employees at the counter, both of whom were moving very slowly despite 15 people waiting. Once we got up to the counter it was fine though. We got out to our assigned vehicle and it smelled STRONGLY of cigarette smoke. What's worse, it's obvious Budget knew that and had the windows rolled down and some strong fruity air freshener to try and cover it up. It smelled awful. I couldn't find anyone in the parking garage to ask to switch cars, so I walked back to the counter fearing that I'd have to wait in line again when I happened upon a Budget employee wandering around. She radioed someone and found us a different, smaller car that we could use. It too smelled like cigarettes, but wasn't as bad and we didn't want to deal with switching again, so we took it. Had to roll the windows down each night of our trip to make it tolerable. I've never had a rental car that smelled like cigarettes, and Budget in IND gave me two in 10 minutes. Really poor experience.
I had a family emergency and ended being stuck in Chicago because my grandmother passed away. Unfortunately I had to keep my rental car an extra 2 days. Avis charged me 6 WHOLE DAYS worth of rentals at my current rate because I could not return the day I originally booked. I have NEVER had this problem before with any other car rental company and I rent about 2-3 cars a month for week at 1-2 week intervals. I will never rent from Avis again and I will tell everyone in my Army unit to not do the same. This was single handed the worst rental experience ever. You all took advantage of a situation in the middle of a week when NOTHING was going on and inflated prices through the ROOF! When I arrived back at the drop off I scanned the parking lot for similar models and there were dozens! So there was no real need for my specific car to be back on the exact date I booked it for. I then walked up to the counter and attempted to rent another vehicle same class and everything just to see what the price difference was and it was the exact same as my original booking so charging me 3X the current rate for 2 days straight was extremely unnecessary. Never again! Worst rental company I’ve ever dealt with!
I have been renting from Budget for the last 4 years and they are the only ones I rent from now. They have great rates and customer service anytime I have had an issue they take care of it quickly, and there haven't been many issues at all. I recommend Budget to everyone that ask me. I am a client for life!
I had a very enjoyable experience at my recent trip to Indianapolis. I was waited on promptly. The car was almost brand new. Drop off was a breeze. It was a very pleasurable experience working with Avis.
