Avis Car Rental

Our experience with this location was fine, as a pre-paid app user. The place looks a little run down, but the service was good and the guys working there spoke perfect English.nnThe Avis app is easy enough to use, and gives you a discount for pre-paying through the app. We purchased our rental insurance from the app and they didn't try to sell us anything else at the counter.nnThey didn't have our car class (full size) so they upgraded us to a SUV for free. Sadly, it was horrible on gas. Oh well.nnIf you plan on driving through tolls and don't have your own EZ Pass, you have the option of getting billed for the tolls you use (PLUS! a $6/day service fee) or paying a flat $21/day for unlimited tolls.nnAs with any rental car company, you should make sure you understand their policies before you do business with them. Oh, and don't try to rent a car with cash - it doesn't work like that.

This is the worst BIASED Car rental I have ever been to. THEY DON'T UNDERSTAND THAT THEY GET PAID FOR THEIR JOBS BECAUSE WE STILL RENT CARS FROM THEM.nnThis is my experience from August 1st, 2020.nnI booked a car using AVIS app, and got the confirmed reservation.nI came here at the day of my reservation at 9:30 AM, and they don't have any cars, and asked me to come back at 11AM. They took my phone number ( which they already had as I had a confirmed reservation with them), and said they will call me as soon as they have a car. While leaving I looked up their parking lot, and found it was full of cars. LIE #1nnI checked with the guy named ALI, who attended me, and he mentioned, that all these cars have issues and they do not start. LIE #2.nnI went back home, and came back at 11 AM, and saw ALI signing papers withnanother customer. I checked their parking lot, and found the parking lot with fewer cars now. LIE #1 and #2 CAUGHT RED HANDED.nnI asked why I wasn't informed once they had a car available, and they again said that there are no cars. This time I decided to persist and waited on the branch.nnDuring my stay, there were 2 more customers who came in after me, signed paperwork, got the rental car keys and left.nnAt both these times, I checked as why I am being waited whereas others are getting their rental cars.nnThis time ALI came up with another LIE #3. He said, these customers have called and confirmed him that they are coming to pick cars, after they have booked their cars. I was totally out of words on this absolutely lame excuse.nnI held my calm, and just stayed there just because I needed the car badly yesterday.nnSo, finally, at 12:30, after some hardships, they finally gave me the car.nnThese guys are CHEATERS AND LIERS !!nnIf anyone knows about a consumer court, I would be happy to lodge a case against them.

It's the best rental agency Inthe area by far. Staff are very friendly and will give you upgrades whenever they can. I have used them a few times and never had to queue long. Will go again.

Honestly, this is the most poorly run car rental location I've rented from. I do believe that AVIS as a whole is becoming the very low-budget car rental option. This was the second time I've rented from Avis in Hudson County where there was TRASH in the vehicle assigned to me (last one had two used COVID-19 masks).nI arrived on a Saturday morning (September 2020) to pick up my reserved vehicle. When I entered, there were quite a few people standing and waiting (which I felt was weird - especially in an era of social distancing). I checked in at the counter and the guy standing on the Avis side told me that the car was not available for pickup and he politely asked that I wait 25 mins. I obliged and waited outside. During that time, I chatted with another person who stated that he had been waiting an hour and 20 mins for a vehicle!nLong story short, I waiting about 30 mins and was finally able to check-in and get a vehicle (they gave me whatever they had left). They ask you to complete/sign the review of vehicle appearance slip and sign BEFORE youre able to actually see the vehicle - which I refused.nThey also list on the check-out print that your gas tank is FULL - which was totally FALSE. I drove off the lot and moments later realized that the tank was NOT full, so I drove right back and had them acknowledge that the tank was not full.nMy biggest issue (after having to wait because they didnt have the vehicle I reserved) was the fact I didnt get a full 24 hour rental. I just dont believe that its fair that I pay for a 24 hour rental, but I do not get to enjoy a 24 hour rental because THEY didnt have vehicles when I arrived timely for my vehicle pick-up!nIm concerned about how AVIS is operating its business. I wouldnt be surprised if theyre aquired by another major car rental entity.

Avis, North Bergin NJ, put me in a unclean car, Yes this was (is) during the Covid 19 pandemic. Watch out for a guy with the gray mole, it is on the left side of his nose, hard to miss it. He is rude and careless.nnI called Avis for compensation with NO LUCK. What a wasted trip. It was a good step for Avis to file for bankruptcy protection, because they know the company is not worth ish. GREEDY HEATHENS
