Enterprise Rent-A-Car

Rented a standard SUV through Costco to take on vacation this August. Went to Enterprise in Southington to pick it up - everything went fine until I got in the car and realized it smelled horribly of weed. Knowing that I was driving the vehicle 9 hours to Maine, I wasn’t willing to just let it go and put up with the smell. I told the sales associate that the vehicle smelled and asked what options I had. I was told that I could call around to other Enterprise locations to find another SUV, so my husband and I stood there calling the 10 closest Enterprise locations looking for an alternate vehicle. After being unsuccessful in doing the sales associates job for her, I told her they could either find us a different car by the next day or we would just cancel the reservation. The next morning I called to check the status of finding another SUV and was told they would have one for me to pick up at noon. When I arrived to pick up the vehicle, I asked the associate if this one also smelled to which I was met with “it smells like a Dodge, they all smell this way.” I was then told I could “use whatever air fresheners and how ever many I wanted.” I then got into the car and lucky for me this one also smelled of weed. Knowing that the associate had brushed off my concerns and had me look for an alternate vehicle the day before, I knew I was out of options. We drove the disgusting vehicle for a week and swore to never make that mistake again. I also was originally overcharged beyond the price I booked through Costco and was told I was wrong until I showed the confirmation to the associate. The price was corrected.nnTo say it was a horrible experience would be an understatement. My Dad is a platinum Enterprise Plus member and the reason I decided to rent a car for the trip. After I told him about my experience he was floored and said that he has never been treated so poorly. I’m not sure if it was just this location or if this is a more widespread issue but I will not be renting from here again and wouldn’t recommend this location to anyone.

I feel they're the friendliest a most helpful bunch of people I have ever done business with they're more than helpful they went out of their way to take care of me I recommend southington Enterprise to anybody who wants to rent a car I don't think you get a friendly a bunch of kids I see kids because I'm an old lady lol but I honestly believe they are the best bunch of employees I've ever dealt with so I give them a 10 I recommend them highly
