Since I can't give negative stars, I'll have to settle for giving 1 star. I WILL NEVER recommend this place to my worst enemy. They take your money, give botched vehicles and then don't want to accommodate you. Lisa is a manager and she acts like she's not so she don't have to deal with the backlash.nnLong story short I received a vehicle in August this year and it blew hot air. I could not swap the vehicle and my 3 year old son birthday was ruined. When I returned the vehicle, I was told by Lisa I would get a certificate for a free day mailed to my house. Never received the certificate nor my deposit. When I called to follow up, the claim was never put in the computer. Apparently only the manager could give me the certificate and it is to be given by hand not by mail.
The service at the location was unreliable and unprofessional. The car rental reservation was scheduled 2-3 days in advance, the front desk clerk failed to verify that my rental was in stock. There was no confirmation phone call on the part of Avis which was very bizarre. The most outrageous thing was the fact that my customer representative did not how to properly correct the situation. I ended up spending 2hrs lingering around the store and I did missed my appointment to pick up my belongings from the auction.nFurthermore, There was unauthorized charges against my credit card after my contact or agreement was finalized. An $18.54 Was added to my card and the location did not have any trace of it. I did make sure that my mileage and fuel level was similar to what it was supposed to be when I picked the vehicle. All and all, I will never rent from Avis again and specially the location in Newington CT on Berlin Turnpike. I want to make sure that customers are well taken care of and the staff are trained properly do the job.
Rented from this location and when it was time for pickup the agent tried to give me a car that had not been clean. I explained to her that the last time I rented here I received a car that smelled like cigarettes and there was no others cars on the lot. When the rental was returned, I dropped the keys off in the drop box. The rates had went up to almost triple what I was paying and I was told from the reservation department that even though a new rental would be cheaper they could not honor a different rate. Now my credit card shows double and the location did not check the car in until 3 days after it was already returned. Worst experience ever with this location!
We picked up a dirty rental.. said ok fine... lets wipe it down and take it. Returned it how we got it... nothing more nothing less.. got charged a fee cleaning service??!! They took care of it once we reached out their headquarters but its sad that this even happened.
This location of the of the Franchise Avis/Budget is very unorganized and unprofessional. I was instructed to return the vehicle in designated area, and put keys in drop box . I then received a notarized letter stating the the rental car was not returned on specified date in which I took pictures time stamped to support that I did so . I initiated an investigation to only find out that they in fact had rented the same vehicle out to a different party while billing me for no return. Buyer BEWARE! Take tons of pictures, follow up if anyone ever picks up the phone at the location, and put the keys in their hand , because I guess the Surveillance cameras do not work !
