I was on my way to Denver when my car broke down. I was stranded in the 7-11 gas station parking lot for three hours. Three different people who came to help me suggested that I should give Pat at Arches auto repair a call. When I called him at first he said he was too busy and couldn’t see me. After the third person recommended him. I called him back. He agreed to take a quick look at my car even though he was swamped! He quoted me an hourly price. And when it was over he only charged me half of that. I think he felt sorry for me because it seemed like my engine was toast! He did the best assessment he could and was very kind and let my car stay there for three more days until it was able to be transported to the nearest BMW dealership so they could make a final assessment. I couldn’t be more grateful to Pat! He really helped me through a very stressful time. He is very kind, honest and an angel if you ask me!

Our Prius was towed to Arches Repair after breaking down unexpectedly in Arches National Park. Pat was able to look at the car the first day he had it. While it needed a new starter battery, and Pat quoted us what it would cost to replace it, he also bypassed the battery to see if there was another underlying problem. He determined that there was, perhaps with the ignition, and recommended we have the car towed to the nearest Toyota dealer. Pat could've made a buck off replacing our starter battery, which would have cost us a bunch without actually fixing our car, but he did his due diligence and didn't charge us for more than we needed, which was to know that we needed to be towed to the Toyota dealer. Ultimately the problem did involve a part that I'm not sure Pat would've had in stock, so sending us on our way was the right thing to do. (He also rented us a replacement car at a reasonable rate, even with the added insurance we needed because I don't carry collision coverage.)

Sometimes all you need is an honest opinion. We got one at Arches Repair. "Yes, we can try that with your post mature transmission, but there's a good chance it'll just ruin what life it has left. You're better off just taking it easy and heading home. " We made it - all 2800 miles.

Pat was awesome and fair. Makes you wish every mechanic was this professional and compassionate. Didn’t try to overcharge or over-diagnose. I’d recommend going to Pat with any issues you have. 10/10

I tried to repair an issue with my car today by myself, however I was unsuccessful. The mechanic I worked with, Pat, quickly fixed the issue. He is extremely helpful. I can see why this place has many good reviews. Would without a doubt stop here for any car problems while in the Moab area.
