What started out as a wonderful last minute rental turned into a nightmare from hell. I even complimented on how appreciative and easy the rental was. What a mistake! I only needed a one day rental but due to the limited hours, I ended up having to rent for a weekend. I was fine with this. Upon returning the rental, I was assessed a cleaning fee for pet hair in the trunk,even though there was no pet or use of the trunk. On my receipt it says I accepted this, I wasn't given a choice. I said I would go vacuum it but was told it was their responsibility and it had to be sent out. I called corporate and got the run around with them. While on the phone with them, I noticed on my receipt, other fees that I was not notified of energy surcharge, a PA surcharge, and 8% tax. The state tax is 6%, so I'm starting to believe it's a scam. Would get no stars if could.

This was the absolute worst experience we've ever had with a rental vehicle. We were told prior to our reservation that we would not be charged an additional fee for adding family members as drivers. Upon picking up the vehicle, we were then told it would be $13/day to add a driver. That's an extra $130 on top of the $356.92 we were already charged. Our reservation time was 12PM. Upon discovery of this added fee that we were told would not occur, we cancelled our reservation at 10:30AM which is 1.5 hours before our reservation time of 12PM. We never received a refund of $359.92. I understand there may have been a cancellation fee of $100, and that is perfectly fine. But here we are a month later and I have not received ANY type of refund. They have kept $356.92 of what I've paid. They did NOT refund the $256.92 that they were supposed to. APPARENTLY after speaking with customer service the Hertz Rental Associate, is not able to process a cancellation, we were supposed to do that on our own. BUT HERE'S THE THING - we were never told that we would need to cancel our own reservation by calling their customer service reservation line. I will NEVER use Hertz again, and I should have listened to EVERYONE that told me to stay far, far away from this company. I will be filing a formal fraudulent dispute with my credit card company for this theft.

Great place to rent from. Staff are friendly and efficient. Car was clean and fully fueled.

I was looking to rent a car and thanks to these review and a previous experience in alabama I wont be renting from them thank you for all the warnings
