Avis Car Rental

Super easy off airport location to rent vehicles from. Sonom is always friendly, fast and efficient. The vehicles are always ready to go. Very convenient location.

Never use Avis. I arrived at the Redding airport at 7:45 pm to find that Avis closed at 1 pm. There was no warning, no contact from them to see if I was still coming, to see if my flight was delayed, nothing. I called the national customer service line and was basically told I'm screwed. I was stranded in Redding. I had to get a hotel room and wait until the next morning for Avis to open again, where they then charged me another $30 because the rate of the car had magically increased. Using Avis has cost me over $300 extra with the cost of the hotel, Uber rides, and my lost night of use at my AirBnB in Mt. Shasta. Zero effort to fix it by Avis.

I'm disabled and rented a car here for someone else to drive me.... When they returned the car I looked at my bank account and was overdrawn $400. They corrected about $120 and gave that back to me, they however did not return the cleaning fee, stating there was an animal in the vehicle, neither of us even have any animals, so that was a lie. They literally charged for everything they could. I didn't have the energy to fight with them. These ppl are dishonest, unprofessional, and I don't recommend them. I suggest you go ANYWHERE else to rent a vehicle. Good luck. If you rent a car here and get swindled, you can't say you weren't warned....

They were super helpful to work with us to add another driver to our rental agreement!

We had full coverage on our rental. Two months later the card on file was charged a $250 dollar cleaning fee without notice for DIRT !!! There was small traces of dirt in the vehicle mostly on the floor mat - but again we had FULL COVERAGE. There was absolutely no communication from AVIS on this for two months nor at the time of charge. We have rented from other companies and have never had an issue. Very unprofessional for them to take advantage of clients like this. Living in Redding we do not have many options for rental but we will NEVER rent from Avis again.
