I usually go with national because they have a solid lineup of rides. Like this bad girl!!! She's purdy. And only 716 miles on her. She's fresh, and picked her up in the emerald isle. She's been good to me so far.

Car was clean and in good shape with low miles. This location only had Chrysler minivans, a trend I’m seeing at many Nationals. Nationals rates are inline with most companies but most locations have only Dodge and Nissan..

I have been a loyal National customer for 6 years but not after renting a car from them at DCA. Over 3 months after I returned my car in June, I received a notice that they were trying to collect over $3,000 for damage to the BUMPER that I did not cause.nnWhen I returned the car there was not notice that there was an issue, and I know I didn’t get in an accident. If I did I’d sure as hell like to do more than damage a bumper for my $3k money’s worth.nnNevertheless, after explaining this to them 3 months after it occurred they have held steady that I am somehow liable for damages. I have now spent over 30 hours defending myself in a claim for a car I rented for 24 hours, that they didn’t have any problem with until 3 months after it was returned.nnWhat I THINK is going on, truthfully: they were trying to take the corporate insurance policy that they mistakenly applied to the rental for a ride to replace depleted revenues due to COVID with exaggerated insurance claims. Well, when that was denied now they think they can get their absurd charges out of me. This place has terrible business practices and has lost me as a customer for all National/Enterprise locations in the future.nnShame on National for this.

I switched to National for work travel because they are super fast selecting a car and getting out of the airport. Emerald club makes life easy. For personal rentals they have clean cars that are comfortable for longer drives. My everyday car is a hybrid, but going over 100 mile trips, the larger gas cars are more practical. We just rented a Nissan rogue for a trip to North Carolina and it was great! My only wish would be for National and Enterprise to merge their frequent rental clubs. It's easier to pickup at National from an airport, and Enterprise from home.
