I was told to go to 3 different locations, 1st was closed the 2nd didn't have any vehicles and the 3rd finally had one, but it made me over an hour and a half late. Was told drop off location had after hours drop boxes but they did not, which also made me run further behind. FINALLY after turning the vehicle in I was charged for an upgrade after AVIS told me I wouldn't be.. And I as billed for insurance that I did NOT sign up for. This was the worst experience I've ever had renting a car. I will never use this company again and I will tell everyone I know to stay FAR away from this poorly ran business. What an absolutely embarrassment for AVIS and they way this was handled. Use Enterprise or Hertz instead and save yourself the trouble.
Jide, is the manager there. He called my emergency contact ONE day after the car was due back and threatened to report the car stolen! He had my mother freaking out. Then, preceded to call her again the next day after I came to the office and no one was there! He was also rude when I returned the vehicle. I spend $1200 on this rental and had plans to do that every month for business travel. Now, I will take my business elsewhere.
I'm not really well-versed in car rentals but needed one at the last minute due to some unexpected car trouble and needing to fulfill my obligations, I needed a way to get around. Unbeknownst to me you need a credit card at most places, but not Avis! They did require some extra identification but nothing I didn't have readily available. Although I was same day, April was able to get me in and out and was such a pleasure to work with. Definitely going to be go-to in the future.
The car was extremely dirty, I had to go and get it cleaned. It was full of ashes all on the drivers side door and carpet. I had no choice but to drive the car because I was in a rush. I called the attendant and she said it came from the airport. I f I had time I would have brought it back. It was parked in the garage so I could not see all the dirt it had in it. I have taken photos of the car to share. Let me know where I can send the pictures.
This location is closed. I went today to pick up my car and there is a sign out front that says to go to a Midtown location. I ended up canceling my reservation and getting a refund. A simple email with an updated address could have saved me 45 minutes and a huge headache.
