ZERO STARS!!!nI anxiously arrived at RFD last week and couldn't wait to pick up my 5 passenger hybrid Ford Fusion that I reserved online only to find out that the Hertz counter is closed, and has been closed since March. UNACCEPTABLE!!!nI called the number on the memo, but the other Hertz office in town wasn't any help, either. They had a vehicle, but I had to find my own way there to pick up a vehicle and also return it there, finding my own way back to the airport.nReally???nThere were two other rental agencies at the airport, and they did not have any vehicles at the moment. I had to wait about two hours until someone returned a vehicle. Fortunately, the price was only slightly higher given the extremely short notice I needed a vehicle.nWhat an experience!

I am as upset as I have ever been with a business. I reserved a mini van (through AAA) MONTHS ago for a special family vacation many months in the making. I called AAA multiple times to confirm the reservation and make sure everything was in place. Went to pick up the van for the trip... THEY DIDN'T HAVE ONE. They said all they could give us was an SUV that could seat the same # of people, but that won't work for us because we need to fit 2 car seats and still fit a 3rd child in back. Person helping us was very unapologetic and just kept saying there was nothing they could do. We already had our hotel reservations made, bags packed, dogs dropped off for boarding, children excited to leave, and plans for the day and week. Had to leave empty handed, ended up finding a mini van through Enterprise but they're not open until the morning, so we lose about half a day of our vacation. Not to mention it cost over $300 more for the same thing. So much extra stress on top of the stress of planning a vacation. THANKS FOR NOTHING HERTZ.

We rented a Jeep from this location for 5 days, we didnt notice until we were 30 minutes away that the Jeep we received had quite a bit of front end damage on drivers side (It looked like someone had pulled the fender out trying to hide the damage) the dash indicators said the left front turn signal wasn't working. The car was also full of dog hair in the rear.....supposedly no animals are allowed in Hertz rentals?nWe called the Hertz desk at the airport and the guy had no clue the vehicle was damaged and dirty. They offered to exchange the vehicle but we were already 30 minutes away and didn't have time to go back in the wrong direction we were traveling. I also contacted the manager and she was also clueless.nI will never rent another vehicle from Hertz.....they did absolutely nothing to rectify us paying over 300 dollars to rent this Jeep.....piss poor customer service, pics poor maintenance on the vehicles.

Have rented from Hertz the last four or five times I was in Rockford over the last two years. Service has been impeccable. Cars have been low mileage very clean and problem free. Staff is extremely helpful and act like they love their jobs and want to provide good service. I would highly recommend this company to anyone looking to rent a car in Rockford.

I rented a van for a family trip from this location for 12 days. When we got into the car, it was dirty; there were empty baggies that had food in them found in the van. There were also crumbs in most of the seats. I returned the van on a Sunday and on Monday they charged me an additional $70. When I called the location to get information about the extra charge, the woman that answered the phone sounded like she was put out and basically read from a script and told me to call their 800 number. When I asked her how she could charge me but not explain what the charges were for, she interrupted me, spoke VERY rudely and told me again to call the 800 number. When I called the 800 number I got an answer for the reason for the charge (if you return on a day that they're closed, they WILL charge you for not returning the vehicle on time and you'll have to wait for several business days to see a refund) and that woman was nice and helpful. I spent a lot of money renting from Hertz and should've had a clean car and good customer service. Based on this experience, I'll never rent from them again.
