Multiple factors made this a bad experience with National. I had made a reservation for a minivan ahead of time. When I got to the airport there were no minivans available. We waited for 40 minutes while they found one for us and got it cleaned and ready. They did give us a 10% discount fir the wait and we appreciated that.nThen a blizzard canceled all flights for our return flight. We were able to rebook at another airport and I called ahead to move the drop off location for the car. They said they would waive the one way fee, but when we dropped the car off the fees were still there. I am still fighting to get National to do what they said they would do.

The rental car industry needs to learn from the airlines on how to treat their most loyal customers. Over the past several years i have rented from National for over 400 rental days. However, that has provided little benefit or incentive to continue other than a few free days at the end of each year. Airlines, for example, offer complimentary upgrades, pick of seats upon booking, and other perks depending on your level of loyalty. With National, you get the same pick of the litter that someone else does that uses the company at a 1/3 of what I do. In some locations National lets you 'pick your car'. However, I would much prefer having upgrades available for your most loyal customers than choosing between a Chevy Malibu and Nissan Rogue.

It was a super rental experience. Everything! From picking up the car to dropping off the car.nnThe people at National are very customer focused. Very friendly. The vehicle was an absolute pleasure to drive.

I have been using the same process for as long as I have been a member. I fly every week for my job which requires me to rent a car. I reserve with my Mastercard and pay with a different card when returning the rental. Well first some apparent reason 5his morning the associate with national was giving me a hard time taking my payment with a different card. I use this card every week. She didn't even try processing it . She didn't care what my status was with national she just wanted to give me a hard time when I fly every week. No one has ever given me a hard time. I didn't have time to go back and forth with her and wait for her to call someone to ask about my bank card. It was a Visa check card. I have never been so disappointed before with national. I hope in the future this will never happen again. This location was at the Atlanta Georgia Airport!
