Budget Car Rental

I am flying out of Ryan Airport in the morning. Since I only own a two-seater car, and my children and grand daughter are going with my wife and I, I elected to rent an SUV to get us to the airport. I went to their website (Budget Car Rental) and reserved and paid for the rental using my Mastercard debit. I had a friend drive me to the airport to pick up the car and was then told that I could not use a debit card to rent the car unless I was on a departing flight. I explained that I am departing early in the morning and that was why I needed the car - to get my family to the flight. The desk agent told me that I would not be able to proceed with the debit card. I asked if the payment I had made online had posted and she stated that the money was taken for the rental and I would have to contact Budget by phone to arrange for a refund (up to 2 weeks processing). I have rented vehicles in the past from Enterprise using a debit card with no issue. The only reason I didn't go with Enterprise again is because they didn't have any vehicles large enough for the five of us and our luggage. I will never use Budget again. The lack of advance notice that I would not be able to use my debit and the fact that they took the money - that I won't get back until after our vacation, shows me how little they care for their customers.

First of all I got to the rental car center and NO ONE was at any desk there's 5 different companies and not one person was there to help assistant myself or the 3 other customers waiting.nHertz had someone at the counter in the garage and ended up paging someone for Budget/Avis it still took about 5-7mins for someone to come to the counter.nWhen the representative finally did show I believe her name was Ashley, she asked my name and said I wasn't on her list and she couldn't honor my reservation, she could only honor reservation made with 24hrs notice. I booked through Orbitz and their system didnt update or something. I asked if this was common practice because if so this is a terrible way to run a business. She explained that it happens more often than not and apologized and offered me to wait to see if more vehicle would be returned sooner than later. So I waited for about another 10mins or so and she checked her systems and offered me a ford ranger (I had booked a kia soul or something compatible). I was pressed for time so I took the Ranger. I was grateful she was able to find me something and to drive away with. When I got up to the car is was filthy the outside looked like someone went off roading and the inside the same caked up mud on the floor. I again pressed for time just rolled with it because I knew I would have my time to voice my concerns later. Upon return the same customer service agent was at the desk and ask about my trip and was very friendly. I again appreciate her efforts in trying to ease a stressful situation for of us. I believe it's up to management and owners to not put employees in situations like this time and time again!

We've rented from this budget location before and our experience was the same. The attendant is a wonderful young lady. She has a great personality and wonderful disposition. She went above and beyond her duty to help usher along my rental experience. Whenever I'm in town I will continue to rent from this Budget location and recommend this location to my family/friends that reside in this area .

Was over charged , my discount was not applied, waited 47 minutes Monday to speak with a rep. Unless I’m wrong and to rent from budget and are willing to pay over $200 per day for a basic 4 door sedan like a Malibu , impala, etc.

Process is easy. Easy check in, easy check out. Prices are a bit high, but the rental I requested was on point.
