Rented a car for a day and put down we’d pick it up at 4. Unfortunately, we had a work meeting that ran over and were unable to pick it up right at 4. Every piece of literature I’ve received from Hertz (including emails, reservation page, and reservation confirmation) stated they closed at 5 pm. I receive a phone call around 4:20 stating that they closed at 4:30 and I needed to be there ASAP. I apologized and explained a meeting ran over. I brought up that everything I’ve received stated they close at 5 and was told “no it’s 4:30.” I told the employee the GPS time of 4:35 and she states “well you better be in and out” and hangs up. We get there and are told we need a utility bill with our address on it and a driver’s license with the address isn’t acceptable. After explaining we’re from Ohio and didn’t bother to bring a utility bill (this wasn’t indicated on any instructions provided), were allowed to rent the car. BEFORE we even get in the car and off the lot, the employee locked up the place and in her car leaving. Luckily we didn’t have any issues with the car itself because we clearly couldn’t get ahold of her if so. Very poor customer service!
Due to company policy changes,,,,, service is VERY Lacking.
