I currently have a rental car from Dollar. I picked it up yesterday (17FEB) and I’m scheduled to return it on (14MAR). I’ve gotten cars from Dollar the last two trips I’ve made to ORF and both times have been disappointing. On both occasions, I had a coupon for a free upgrade. On both occasions, there were none available. Also on both occasions, the cars I picked up were dented and the interiors smelled like lemon and soured carpet. This is my last time giving Dollar/Hertz my business. I tried to tell the clerk the car was dented. The passenger’s side of the hood was dented pretty good. He told me I had some coverage and was “more than good”. Whatever that means....

On Nov 24, 2020, I booked a full size pickup Truck to be picked up on Dec 20, 2020. I prepaid for the Truck to ensure it was available. When I arrived to pick up my vehicle at Dollar, the sign at the Airport directed me to Hertz Rental Car. Hertz advised that the Truck I booked was not available. They offered a Mini Van and a Malibu, neither of which suited my needs. The clerk was put in an impossible situation by the corporation but he was a nice person.nnI was told I could possibly go to another location in RICHMOND and switch it out for a Truck IF they had one.nnThis is very unfortunate as I am now trying to figure out how to deliver Christmas with a Malibu. Corporate Greed allowed Dollar to rent out a prepaid vehicle to a walk up customer who probably paid a lot more for a last minute rental.nnI hate to write a post like this but this type of business must stop. I usually rent from Enterprise, looks like I will have to go back after this disappointing experience with Dollar.

We received a 2017 Murano with a big dent on the passenger side. It was disgustingly dirty. No tags showing it had been cleaned. Goop all over screen, clumps of nasty all over the center console, left over food in a baggie under the backseat...We picked up car when dark outside and didn't notice how gross it was until next morning.

No surprises. Wish other car rental companies worked this well.nnGot a Flight/rental package to Norfolk VA and Dollar rental car company supplied the vehicle. The transaction was seamless! I even got the car that was listed. (I usually wind up with something else).nMy only issue that occurred was by my own hand. I left some items in the car on arrival and didn't realize it until I got home. I filled out the lost and found form on their site and 3 days later got a call from them that they had my things. You don't know how much that meant to me.nThank you Norfolk Int. Airport Dollar Car rental employees AND your associates!.
