Thrifty Car Rental

Inside of the car was decently cleaned, product was smeared in places. The real issue was the outside of the car, it was polluted with these white particles. All over the hood, the windows, in every little crevice on the outside of the car. Looked like hood had been sprayed with dust. I spent an hour or so cleaning it off after spending $225 dollars to have the car cleaned.

Mediocre rental and detail shop. They only put 100% effort into things that are their own and even when they do that it's a hack-job. They fire all the good help they get and they don't pay well at all. Horrible company. Fake friendliness.

I’m not a fan of writing reviews unless a business was absolutely amazing or so terrible I couldn’t not comment.nMy boyfriend got his van detailed today. I was there when he called and scheduled. Detailed inside and outside. The woman on the phone was very kind.n** Side note. Let me say, I’ve had my own car detailed in Pittsburgh before. My interior was cleaned spotless. **nHis father takes the van in for him and when he get it back it was cleaned well on the outside. Ok. But the inside...was not touched apart from someone wiping dust off the console. The cup holders and all around were untouched. There was a chocolate mark from my drink the night before. The fabric seats weren’t vacuumed or wiped down. There was still dog hair and crumbs. The doors weren’t wiped down of dust, scuff marks, etc. The floor (hard plastic) was left dirty and again, untouched!!!! When we get it back he called to ask what they even did on the inside because it was 95% untouched. The woman on the phone proceeds to tell us they are training a new guy and the person who’s supposed to check the cars must not have and for us to bring it back in.n.........nTook it back in and when it was brought back, the only thing that was done was the woman was like “oh I got the spots that were missed”. THE ONLY THING THEY DID WAS CLEANED THE CUP HOLDERS!!!! THE FLOOR WAS STILL FILTHY AND UNTOUCHED AND EVEN HAD GRASS STILL LAYING THERE!!! DOG HAIR WAS STILL ON THE SEATS!!!! THIS WAS A WASTE OF TIME AND MONEY. PLEASE DO NOT GET YOUR CAR DETAILED HERE, JUST GO GET IT WASHED IN THE AUTOMATED WASHES FOR $10 AND CLEAN THE INSIDE YOURSELF OR GO ELSEWHERE. IF I WERE THE ONE TO PICK THIS VEHICLE UP LIKE THIS I WOULD HAVE DEMANDED IT BE DETAILED PROPERLY OR GIVEN A REFUND. I’ve actually heard bad stories about this place for years. Should have listened!!!!!

I’m sorry to say I would not get my car detailed at Thrifty in Steubenville. I first will say they were more than helpful and generous and the staff is understanding and respectful. But here is the facts: I dropped my truck off for a “COMPLETE DETAIL”nBuffing, wash, wax, interior steam and clean, and engine. $225 plus $10 rental car. I agreed to this and dropped my truck off with the intention of bringing my wife’s car there the following day for another complete detail.nI called to see if my truck was completed around 5pm (I dropped off around 8:30am.nThey said yes it’s ready to be picked up. When I went there and looked at the truck it appeared to have never been buffed and there was mud on the side rails and underneath the wheel wells. (I went and showed the owner and he told me if I had time the following day when I picked my wife’s car up he would have it washed again in 15 minutes. But he agreed that it never was buffed. He gave me a discount to $150 and said that the engine cleaning was free.nI agreed to leave my wife’s car there to give them another chance. As I opened the door to the drivers side of the truck, I noticed a coffee stain that was on the plastic side near the cup holder. ( I then opened all the compartments and realized they never been touched) now I know most of the time they won’t get into the compartments but the lady who helped me said if the compartments were open and emptied they would clean them, they never were touched.nnI already had paid the $150 and I returned inside to let the owner know I would not be taking my truck and asked if they would do it all again. They agreed.nSo having my truck for two full days I returned the second day with optimism. I was disappointed when I saw that the interior was cleaned a little better but the exterior once again never was washed or waxed or buffed. There where still bug splatter on mirrors, mud in the wheel wells, and chrome side rails were left dirty.nnI never really complain about to much and this is my first bad review on a business, but I feel that if you are spending $225 that your vehicle should look way better than it did and also have what was agreed on completed.nnThey greed to return $115 and only charged me for the steam clean after they asked me how much do I think the job they did was worth.nAll that to say, I won’t be a return customer.nLike i said the employees were nice and the owner was also, but the detailing is really lacking professionalism and honesty. I just hope that people catch this if it happened to them and didn’t pay the full price for a quarter completed job.

Every single time I rent here, and I do often, for work and personal trips, they find me a car and treat me like family. Even when there are no cars available they make calls and work to line something up. These guys are the best, don't rent from anyone else in town, unless you don't care about customer service. They also do great car detailing! I get the best service here, and I've only started renting from them two years ago, which to me means, they treat EVERYONE like family!
