Enterprise Rent-A-Car

There was no full-size car available at the time of my rental, so the agent graciously upgraded me to a compact SUV at the same rate. The online pre-check-in process had pretty much everything done, so the actual check-in process was fast and efficient. The return was even more expedient. An all-together very positive experience. This site is my go-to for rentals, and Enterprise continues to make the best even better. Well done, Enterprise team!

We had to rent a vehicle for a funeral several states away so we jumped online and booked a reservation. When it came time to pick the car up we showed up and they informed us that they had nothing for us... Literally not 1 car, suv, truck... nothing. They tasked me with finding another vehicle from a different location, so here I am frantically calling every Enterprise location trying to find something. We finally found a Dodge Grand Caravan, however, when we picked it up it was dirty. The windshield looked like it had chemicals sprayed all over it, so it was difficult to see until I cleaned it. Also the windshield wipers were shot & the van was already 1000+ miles over due for an oil change; I was about to put 1,800 miles on it.nnOverall I normally have a great experience with Enterprise but was less than satisfied with spending $380 for a dirty van that was 1000+ miles overdue for an oil change, windshield wipers that needed to be replaced & a windshield I couldn't clearly see through. However the van did get us there and back but it makes me nervous with the pandemic & exactly how well this van was sanitized before I picked it up. We will not be renting from Enterprise again, there are plenty of other places to rent.nn**Chris, I sent an email with all the information you requested. Thanks for a speedy reply.**

Enterprise really let us down! Initially my family and I were excited that Enterprise was able to confirm our reservation for a 15-passenger van for spring break. We didn't realize until we were well on our way how bad the jalopy we rented actually was.nnAfter the perfunctory walk-around with the Enterprise representative, I drove away. When I looked in the rearview mirror, I noticed wires hanging from the ceiling above the mirror. The wires were hanging out of a very large cut out in the headliner. It looked like a module had been removed. Didn't think much about it at the time. I made a mental note and moved on.nnI arrived home to an excited family, ready to load up and hit the road. As we were packing, I realized the passenger rear door was janky. It was difficult to open and securely close. These doors weren’t something that the Enterprise representative and I had inspected when I picked the vehicle up. As we were loading luggage, I noticed how dirty the van was. It had caked on mud around and under the seats INSIDE of the van. The interior side panels had silt deposits like the van had been drudged up from the bottom of a dirty lake or beach. The AC vents had mud and silt deposits on the insides. The AC blew cold, but blew continuous dirt and fine dust which made everyone sneeze. Our phones collected a layer of dirt on them. Since we live in west Texas, I thought this might be normal, but I called Enterprise immediately to inform them of the doors and the dirty condition of the vehicle. They assured me that they would document this in the file.nnWe departed on our trip in the van with the expectation that the vehicle would be safe for the whole family. An hour into the trip, the passenger side blinker cover flew off while driving down the highway. Fortunately, the cover didn’t hit another vehicle. Again, checking that the blinker covers were securely fastened to the vehicle is not part of the routine pick-up inspection, but I guess it will need to be from now on. Confused about what had just happened, I pulled over to the side of the road, retrieved the blinker cover, and continued down the road. We called Enterprise to explain what had just happened. “It was probably from all of the wind” was their reassurance. If a vehicle cannot handle a tailwind, how is it road worthy? Nevertheless, we continued down the road now running later than planned to our check-in.nnTraveling from west Texas to south Texas with 8 people in a 15-passenger van can generate some heat. Everyone was uncomfortable. My wife and I in the front seat were freezing from continuous cold air blowing on us while the kids were hot from not getting any air. Unfortunately, we discovered that the wires hanging out of the headliner were supposed to control the AC vents from the first row of seats behind the driver all the way to the back of the van. The vents were present; the controls were not. This meant that the front AC vents needed to circulate air for the entire van. The kids started getting car sick and the trip grew loud as we had to open the side windows to get air circulating. The noise made the trip difficult for me, the driver. Again, checking rear AC controls isn’t typically part of a check-out inspection for a rental van.nnDuring the return trip, engine belts started squeaking causing concern that we would be stranded. Fortunately, the van never died on the road, it restarted every time (that’s why 2 stars and not 1). We arrived home and returned the jalopy a day early. I hope Enterprise removes this van from its fleet.nnI am sad to report that Enterprise had no problem keeping the FULL amount of the rental charges, despite my objection that we paid too much for that particular van. They did release the full deposit on my credit card. My employer routinely rents vans, cars, and trucks from Enterprise without issues. I was surprised by the problems we experienced and it will make me hesitant to rent from them again.

I keep my personal car, very clean and proper. So with that said read this review...nnThe upgrade to brand new car cool! But not how they gave me the car ud83dude1f looks like a kid ate in the front passenger seat and used the top of the seat as a napkin then kissed the glass!! Plus 340 bucks for a week ud83dude22 c'mon now make it reasonable. And if u get the XM radio you'll pay two to three months worth for a week sad. Not using this place again.
