The rental location is a big mess. There is no space to drop the car. I have dropped the keys in the drop box and they haven’t closed my bill even after 7 days. I keep on getting calls every single day to return the car. Worst car rental experience ever! I highly recommend not choosing HERTZ.
I reserved a compact car, but they gave me a (subcompact) Nissan Versa. I'm a tall guy and need more room than that! The rear window was so dirty that I could barely see out of it. I had to clean it myself when I got home. I asked if I could keep the car longer than my reservation when I picked it up. The clerk said that I could, but didn't tell me that I had to call Hertz to extend my rental. I was surprised by a nasty call from their vehicle control department. The entire experience was needlessly unpleasant, but with the AAA discount, their rates are appealingly low. Pickup and dropoff is also easy.
We read all the reviews and were a bit skeptical about renting with them, but we did it through our CC company. We did not regret it, great service, great car, etc. We had a long ride, and the car did not disappoint. We are definitely happy with our rental.
Worst experience. Would not take my friends debit card- has to be spouse or family member. Would not take a debit card either. Had to walk in the rain to Enterprise down the road which was amazing to me I was their 4 customer of the day from Hertz .
