Nice cars to choose from but the deposit is very high if you live in the city.

I decided to use my Points for a vehicle over the weekend at Midway Chicago. Upon arrival I was greeted by the folks and they asked if I was executive and I said yes as I am. They pointed me towards the rentals for this location/level. All were either Hyundai or other types of vehicles. (I drive a RRSC) so I have no intention of driving these vehicles, we were shown a midsize car Audi Q5 maybe and my wife asked if we could use this one. The lady said it would cost 35 extra a day and I accepted. As my points would cover the three days. The total was to be around 100 or so, but when we came back Sunday @ 2PM (picked up Friday @ 10AM) the total bill was more than 240 or so, I asked why it was so high, the person said it’s the cost of the car and upgrade. I was offset by her answer and showed her the contract that we got from the person in the outgoing box. She said well do you not accept the upgrade charge I said NO so she said ok then I will document that you don’t accept ipgrade charges in your profile and you won’t get upgraded in the future. This was RUDE of her, and against the contract price we agreed upon. Not happy with the cars or customer service. Bait and switch.

We asked for a large suv but the rental we got was a midsize in my opinion. I drive a Yukon XL. It would have sufficed since it had 3 rows except that the second row normally the back seat had a console so we lost a seat. Only 2 people could sit in the second seat so we had a person in the third seat who was very uncomfortable the whole time and we had a 2/12 hour drive. I would have loved a discount but none was offered even though I wasn’t given a vehicle that worked for us.

After a horrendous experience with their sister company Enterprise, my experience with National was 5 star from beginning to end. I may even switch my loyalty from Avis to National that's how good my experience was at the MDW airport. Thank you all!

Overall horrible customer service. Will definitely use other rental providers on my trips to Chicago. From my experience they do not care about your experience as a customer, that rather loose a customer then give a little to make them happy.
