Avis Car Rental

I was scheduled to pick up the SUV I had scheduled last month at 8:30. This was necessary in order for me to get to work by 9. The employee was late arriving. He then advised me that he did not have the vehicle I had reserved, and that he had left me a voice mail message to that effect. I did have a missed call from the location, but as no message was left, I was unaware of this problem. He indicated that he could let me have a pick-up truck instead. This was acceptable to me. The surprises continued. I had prepaid for the vehicle, to include Sirius and GPS. None of the trucks had GPS. I was driving to a location I was entirely unfamiliar with, and needed the GPS that I had already paid for. There was little I could do but accept the truck without the GPS. I ended up purchasing a GPS for this trip, to replace the GPS I had already paid for with Avis. It's my opinion that the management of this location should have looked ahead at their needs, and done what it needed to to meet their commitments. Would NOT recommend this particular location to anybody, and with plenty of other car rental options available, I likely won't use Avis again. I am an Avis Preferred member, #4JV13G. Note should also be made of the appearance of the yard, with vehicles on blocks with no wheels. Not confidence inspiring.

The store charged me an excessive amount for just a day when they advised me to cancel my online reservation, so they can be able to help me with the reservation. They are not helpful, they told me that the reservations are always $100.

Good service and I always get a quality car regardless of the model. I use a rental car for my work on an average of six months a year. Over the years I have been happy with going with Avis and will continue to do so.
