I placed a rental with hertz about a month ago, pre paid almost $500 for it, I left work early to go pick it up, I get there and was only informed once I got there that this location only takes credit cards for the remainder of the cost if you prepay, so I was told by a customer service rep. That they would refund the money so that I could use it the next day to book a new rental so I could pay there and use my debit card. The customer service rep failed to inform us that it would be a 7-10 day wait, even though I have a family emergency I have no way to get to where my family is due to them rescheduling and ultimately having to cancel my reservation. Now I’m out $500 until it’s refunded and still cannot get to where I need to be for my family. I would give -100 stars if it were possible and I will never be giving hertz my business again, I couldn’t be more adamant about using any other rental agency. Absolutely ridiculous.
