Budget Car Rental

I rented a mid sized sedan and it had some issues, I spoke to the manager and he upgraded us to a Jeep wrangler. This was very convenient for us because we were taking a road trip all the way to Florida from NY with my family of four. The accommodations were great. The manager was fast to fix the issue for us. I am very grateful. Thank you!

Understaffed and incompetent with some illegal stuff too. We picked up our rental car on a rainy night in January. The lady helping me at the desk asked me if I wanted the unlimited toll pass, to which I answered yes. After everything was signed I was annoyed to find that unlimited tolls weren't added to the rental. I thought about going back to add it, but there were more than 10 customers waiting in line so I decided it wasn't worth it. The real shock came when we got into the rental car. The first thing we noticed about the car was the strong and fresh smell of marijuana. I'm sure some employees were smoking weed in the car right before handing it over to us. My hands smelled like marijuana after touching the steering wheel. On top of that, car's interior was filthy. I went back into the rental office to try to get a different car, but the line got longer. I couldn't grab a hold of any outdoors employees either because it was raining pretty hard. It was pretty late and I was very tired, so i just drove off and called the 1-800 number the next day. The call center person was very understanding and helpful when I told him of my grievances, and offered me a free rental the next time I needed one. I agreed that was a fair resolution and hung up. Today I needed a rental car and called the 1-800 number again and now they're saying there is no record of my complaint or the resolution, and they won't be able to give me what they had promised me just 2 weeks ago. Apparently I should've received a confirmation email, which I didn't, and now it's too late to inform them of that fact too. I'll be filing a BBB complaint for this as well.nAlso, when I returned the rental car 2 weeks ago, this location was so understaffed that there was not a single employee in the car return line. I sat in the car waiting for someone to check the car in for 25 minutes until I finally gave up. I tried the rental office first, where the customer line extended all the way out the door, and then just went to the car wash facility to inform one of the employees there that I had brought the car back. Just overall very frustrating experience.

The car was in good condition. The rental location was perfect, so easy to travel to by bus (from where I live), but the bus stop was right next to Budget LGA anyway. Pick up and drop off were hassle free. There was no hidden fees and charges according to the final receipt given to me upon returning the car. So thank you.

Budget rocks!

Very far from the airport, first car assigned to us was dirty and staff don't care. We rented a car for a day and upon return, waited in the shuttle area for the shuttle the sign said would run every 5 minutes. 30 minutes of waiting and no shuttle. We finally asked about the shuttle and we were told that we had to let them know we needed a shuttle before a shuttle would come. Seriously? Then you need to take your sign down if there is no shuttle coming. No one can read minds and we would have never known that if we hadn't asked. Shuttle finally came and we got the the airport in time but just barely. Avoid if you're looking for good service
