Budget Car Rental

I was a little hesitant to rent here after reading the comments. However, my experience was quite different than what others have shared. I booked my rental through Booking.com for a weekend trip(3 days total). When I called to confirm the details with their office, the lady was nice enough to inform me of a deal where I could pick up my rental 2 days earlier for a reduced rate! This really helped us prep for our trip! On the day I had to return the rental, I realized I had overlooked the time their office closed(and the return time), I showed up 45 minutes late and they were very nice! They told me not to worry about it, just drop my key in the box and I won’t be charged a late fee. They were very friendly, with fast hassle-free service! They will be my go to car rental agency going forward!

I will do my best to avoid renting from Budget in the future. I turned my car in 5 minutes past the 29 minute grace period (10 minutes which was used for filling up the gas tank--which incidentally was not full when I picked it up). I looked at my bill and got charged $213 for an extra hour late fee. I called customer service, and they agreed to reduce the late fee by half, but it is still over $100 extra that I had to pay for my rental.

Clerk was not very friendly at all. Did not give us a clean car. Smoke smell in the car, seats were stained and dirty. Car ended up having issues and we returned it to St. Louis, Mo Budget at the airport. They gave us a different vehicle to use. Clean, nice and our clerk was very helpful and friendly!!

The car was dirty. Dashboard had dust on it. The windshield was not even washed or wiped after who ever returned it. I am shocked during covid rental cars are supposed to be properly clean and disinfected but this was not clean.

I basically had the same experience as Matt Matt. I am a Hertz gold member but decided to try this location because it was cheaper and closer to my home. I rented the car today at 9 am. The customer representative was deliberately slow. The car interior was filthy and there was evidence that a animal had been in the car. That is the good part!!! The customer representative decided to follow me outside after he gave me keys to rental and harass the person that dropped me off for no reason because she left at the same time that I did in the rental. I was not aware that he had harassed her until she informed me later in the day. The nerve of this guy!! To say I am angry is an understatement
