Avis Car Rental

Usually have me in-and-out with my rental in a matter of minutes. Staff is pleasant to deal with as well. You treat them with respect and you can expect the same in return. I've always reserved in advance, but I've seen this location run out of vehicles quickly for walk-in reservations (especially on holiday weekends). Best bet is to book online before heading over.

This location is joke. Always a wait - this morning I arrived at 9:50 am for a 10am pick up, there were two people ahead of me in line and I didn’t get my car until 10:30. The cars come out dirty and there is always some “extra charge” added to my bill at end of each rental. I rent about 25-30 cars a year through Avis and it’s either the person behind the counter adding “insurance” after I asked them to leave my reservation or some other nonsense extra charge. The girl behind the counter jokes that she needs to make her quota - that doesn’t give you the right to add extra and unwanted charges to people’s bill. During my most recent visit the person checking in cars didn’t even bother to put the key in the ignition to check the mileage and confirm that the car had a full tank of gas. He also wasn’t providing receipts after he checked in cars… I didn’t see the extra fuel charge until I checked the Avis app at home. Tried calling the location and the customer service phone number but no one answers. Skip this Avis unless it’s your absolute last resort.

This is now the second time I've had an issue with returning care here. First off the care that the app gave me the option to select was not at this location so that had to switch it last minute. My return was scheduled for 11pm I pulled I'm 10:50 and they were ready to close. The gentleman scanned the Vin and said have a nice day. Because he did this I took a look at my receipt on the way home and there is a fuel charge. How are you charging for fuel for a full tank that you didn't even look at. And an extension fee. I approved all my extensions through the app and my final charge on the receipt is incorrect. And to top it all off I got pulled over and the registration expired in August. I mentioned it to the second gentlemen and he was at least nice enough to apologize.

Took a while to get the car that I reserved because they had ONE person at the register, who was just a trainee (who was working really hard). They had no one helping this trainee, and the manager was out.nnThe guy who went over the car details with me was very helpful.

I regularly rent from this Avis and think the female front desk staff are AMAZING but am dropping their rating because they charged me $150 EXTRA for returning the car 5 hours EARLY. I called them 6 times over the course of the day the day after but they never answered; I then went in person and the elder white man in the front desk was of absolutely no help whatsoever. The absurd penalty for giving them a car early (which they then shortly rented out and said I couldn't take back) was disappointing. On to Hertz / Zipcar I guess?
